Chapter 11

Porsche finally spoke after a long period of silence, taking in all that was being said.
"I believed I was his son. After his death, I was broken. I had lost both of my parents. Mom had already died of stroke and then dad passed away. I was an orphan. I needed time for myself, away from that house. I needed to adjust myself with the big change in my life. That is why I made myself distant from everyone. I needed time to heal."

"And dad, I was with him during those times. I wasn't in Europe. I was with him. I know what he has been through due to his parents' death. I didn't know you wanted to kill him because of this misunderstanding. Just like Porsche, I thought you were hungry for power and money because you forbade me to keep any contact with Porsche after his father's death. I thought you wanted to kill him so that you can take over their mafia empire." Kinn added.

Porsche then continued, "And I believed the autopsy report, you know. I was not aware of all the scheming going on behind my back.

Uncle Kan told me a completely different story. He said that you are the one who betrayed father. He told me that you wanted to take everything from uncle Kan after father died. He even showed me large amounts of cash transactions into your account to back up the story.

He made me believe that you are vicious and that you had something over my father to blackmail him to transfer money to you. Otherwise why would he choose you over his own brother. And I believed what he said back then. He said you would not stop until you kill him and me just so you can take over the empire."

Chan replied, "Sir transferred cash to Korn's account because he loved him and wanted Korn to have his money. And guess what, your father was the nominee of Korn's account. That fucker Kan has fed you lies."

Korn was feeling guilty now. He realized how wrong he was about this young man. He had even attempted to take his life because of a misunderstanding.

"Porsche, I am sorry. I am so sorry for everything. Now that I know, I am just glad that you survived. I feel so guilty. I don't know how to ask for forgiveness from you. I feel ashamed of myself now." Korn admitted.

He then turned to Chan and said, "Chan has always told me that revenge will not fulfill me. It will only give me temporary satisfaction but I was so deep into it that I could not think through. I doubted you. I should have known better. You were such a lovely child. How did I change my opinion about you so drastically? I am such a big fool. Revenge engulfed my wit and I let it happen. I am so sorry."

Chan put his hand on Korn's back to showed that he was here to support him.

"Uncle Korn, I forgive you. You loved my father. You are now the only connect I have to my father. I forgive you.

Uncle Kan might have been my biological father and my father might have hated me because I was not his own son but that doesn't change anything for me. He was and will always remain my father for me." Porsche almost broke down into tears.

Korn's men who brought Kinn and Porsche here and were guarding them from behind had now relaxed looking at the turn of events.

Kinn now wrapped Porsche tightly in an embrace and started to rub his back to console him. Kinn had been with Porsche through the entire rough patch when Porsche had become an orphan. He could understand that all those memories rushing back in was causing a great deal of emotional turmoil inside Porsche.

"Son, will you forgive me? Your father still loves you. No matter what. You might have left me because I wanted to kill Porsche but now I know my mistake. Please forgive this old father of yours." Korn folded his hands to apologize to his son.

Kinn had one hand around Porsche's shoulder to show his support. He took the other hand and wrapped it around Korn's folder apologetic hands.

He said, "If Porsche forgives you, I forgive you too, dad. I forgive you."

Korn was overcome with tears and Chan came forward again to hold him and pacify him. Chan was his pillar just like Kinn was Porsche's.
