In the darkest of night, the VKs were sound asleep, like Sleeping Beauty. Since there were no beds, they slept on the ground, Evie and Mal got pillows and blankets, but that was all they could get.
They were so asleep you could mistake them for being dead. Mal was completely under her purple blanket, it's like she wasn't there. Urson's head was under his teal pillow, all you could see was the turquoise hair peeking out his pillow. Evie was sleeping like Snow White, head on her blue pillow, and properly under her blue blanket. Jay was uncomfortable, he tossed and turned on his yellow pillow. But for Carlos, this was every day for him, sleeping in his mother's closet, he felt like a baby, with bis black pillow and white blanket.
But just then, Evie heard a sound, a thud. The first time, she thought it was nothing, so she ignored it, the second time, she opened one eye, but when back to sleep, the third time, she completely woke up.
"Mal, Mal, wake up!" Evie shook Mal's body, but she wouldn't budge. "E, leave me alone" Mal groaned. Evie tried to wake up everyone else, but they gave her the same response Mal gave her. "Okay, let's try it this way" Evie rolled her eyes, with her hands on her hips. She took away everyone's pillow and threw them at the door.
"What was that for, princess?" Urson asked. "I heard something," Evie said, looking around. "Yeah, well right now, I see nothing and I'm going back to sleep" Jay groaned, but then they heard it, a thud, that kept on repeating itself.
Thump!
Thump!
Thump!
"Urson, you already pranked us once, it's not gonna work again," Jay said. "What? That wasn't me" Urson placed his hands up. "Then what was it?" Mal asked, they looked around, but they didn't see the source of the sound, they only heard it.
"You think it's that monster Urson told us about?" Carlos shuddering, scared of what the sound might be. "Carlos, there's no such thing as that monster, I made it up!" Urson rolled his eyes. "Oh yeah, then what's that?" Evie pointed at the beady yellow eyes in the darkness. The eyes got closer and closer to see monsters with swords, black skin, and black horns that look like Maleficent.
The VKs shared a furtive look. Spooked and definitely out-numbered, the group backed up and rushed to the door. But before they could reach it, two menacing creatures stepped forward and blocked the door, leaving was not an option.
"Before they get to say a word, give me and my friend's sharp swords" Mal and Urson chanted, and magical gleaming swords appeared in their hands, if it was a battle they wanted, it was a battle there'll get.

How to win this battle could be tricky

(Mal) Swords in the air if you're with me
