Evie was in her class, Selfishness 101, one of her favorite classes at Dragon Hall taught by Mother Gothel, if you don't remember her, she kidnapped Princess Rapunzel because her magic golden hair can keep her young. But when the magic of Rapunzel's 70 feet of hair was gone, a horrified Mother Gothel rapidly began to age when doing so. In the midst of her hysteria, she failed to see Pascal pulling the length of Rapunzel's cut hair, which tripped Gothel to fall out of the tower window. By the time Gothel's cloak finally hit the ground, only dust remains of her until she was brought back to life and imprisoned.
She looked around to see many people she knows in this class, Hart, daughter of the Queen of Hearts, the Sea Witches, sisters and cousins of Urson and Uma, Harriet Hook, the first child of Captain Hook, with her younger sister, Hollie Hook, and many more. She took her place in the front row, going through her royal blue sketchbook she used for ideas of outfits, she wrote and drew beautiful sketches, fashion notes, style tips.
"Evie" a voice mocked behind her.
Evie looked behind her to see Ginny Gothel, the daughter of Mother Gothel, who was the teacher of this class. "Gothel" Evie whipped her hair as she and Ginny didn't get along. "You in my seat" Ginny demanded, her dark frizzy hair fell from her head, she wore a soiled red dress with tattered golden piping in the neckline. "Well, I'm already sitting here" Evie pointed out, the two girls' conversation turned into a small fight.
"Ginny, dear, just take the seat next to her."
Mother Gothel walked inside the room, she was as wrinkled as a prune because her magic flower is currently the queen of Tangletown in Auradon. "Are you all really here before me, ugh, some people just don't know how to be fashionably late" Mother Gothel scolded her students, she is always 30 minutes late, annoyed the students are there before her.
"Oh, Evie, you're practically glowing" Mother Gothel winked, as her daughter groaned, Evie was always given the compliments, what about her? After all, Evie wasn't the daughter of Mother Gothel, she was, where's her compliment? Why isn't she glowing?
"Alright, I guess we should get started," Gothel said. Evie still looked through her sketchbook. "Hey, Evie" Ginny quietly called. "Someone asked me to give this to you" she handed Evie a piece of paper, and it showed someone's arm, a long blue sleeve, a hand with fingerless gloves, and blue fingernails on the ground, like Snow White when she ate that Poison Apple.
"Why would someone draw this?" Evie wondered. "I don't know and I don't care, I'm just the messenger" the careless Ginny rolled her piercing grey eyes." Evie looked around the class to see who drew this and why they would. "Aww, is the naive Evie confused about why someone would draw that?" Ginny giggled at the fact that Evie didn't know. "Why? What do you know?" Evie asked, but Ginny just slowly gave her a silent gesture as she smiled affectedly.
Evie puffed at Ginny, she knew something, but she wouldn't tell her, there had to be someone who would tell her. "Evie, Ginny!" Gothel said before she went about photos of villains.
"Now, we have a few minutes before class is over, so let's make it about me" Gothel laughed as she went on about her beauty. Evie only half-listened to Mother Gothel, she was mainly focused on the drawing, and you know Evie, she focuses on one thing and doesn't pay attention to the others. Evie was wondering why someone would draw a picture of her dead, or at least...asleep. That's what sparked Evie's idea. "I got it!" Evie couldn't help but say it.
"You got what?" Gothel asked.
Evie accidentally said that out loud, she had to think of a clever excuse. "I have...this homework in the bag" she smiled at her excuse. "Yeah, that's what I meant."
Mother Gothel, then began posing and singing how she knows best. Ginny's eyes turned to Evie, who looked like she was distressed, nice. She showed an evil smirk. "You know something" Evie suspected Ginny, and for good reason, after all, the Gothel family was known for keeping secrets, big or small. "Hey, what can I say?" Ginny raised her hands in the air as she shrugged, looking like her mother.
"I'll find out, one way or another" Evie promised the vain girl. "Sure you will" Ginny giggled, in her mind, Evie wasn't the brightest, her family was more focused on beauty, she always tried to make herself look dumb.
"Now, girls...this is my time, so, shush!" Gothel told them. "Yes," the girls said. Gothel began to again talk about herself and her beauty as the girls still quietly argued. "Now...more about me, see...the trick is to wash your face every morning and night with cold, clear water. One of the skills in my killer beauty routine."
As Gothel went on about her beauty, Evie hid the drawing in her sketchbook, she knew what the rumor was, and she had to tell the others.
