Evie, Mal and Nikolai were sitting in the girl's room when Jane barged in and started rambling about how her mother wouldn't bring the wand out. Nikolai was reading the same torture book that he was reading in Remedial Goodness glamoured into a rule book and only started to tune back into the conversation when Jane was saying something about 'beauty on the inside'.
"Mom said 'if a boy can't see the beauty within, then he's not worth it.' Can you believe that? What world does she live in!" Jane ranted, and sat on Evie's bed.
"Auradon." Mal scoffed, looking through her spell book.
"Mal, Niko, do you like?" Evie asked, holding up a dress that she was sewing.
"Not bad." Nikolai murmured, not looking up from his book.
"Yeah, it's cute, brings out your eyes." Mal agreed.
"I know." Evie complimented herself.
"I'll never get a boyfriend." Jane complained.
"Boyfriends are overrated." Mal said, examining a spell in her book.
"Agreed." Nikolai replied, looking through his torture book, rolling his eyes.
"How would you two know, you've never had one?" Evie accused.
"That's because I don't need one, E." Mal looked up at her, " They're a waste of time." She finished, pulling out her sketchbook.
"And have you ever seen someone that I looked remotely interested in?" Nikolai retorted, looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Good point." Evie relented, then gasped, " I forgot to do Chad's homework!" She jumped up and went to get Chad's backpack, "Oh no. Oh no, no, no no.!" She sat down at her desk while Mal and Nikolai watched with a confused look.
"And this is exactly what I mean." Mal said as there was a knock at the door and a girl came through. The girl had short black hair cut into a bob. She looked Chinese. Daughter of Fa Mulan and Li Shang probably.
"Hey guys! I'm Lonnie." She introduced. She was met with blank stares. "My mom's Mulan?" Blank stares again. "No? Ok. I love what you've done with Jane's hair, and I know you hate us and everything and well, you're evil. But do you think that you could do mine?" She asked. Mal sat up.
"Why would I do that?"
"I'll pay you fifty dollars." She replied, pulling out a purse that jingled with coins.
"Good answer." Evie said. She stood up and took the purse from Lonnie's hands. "I need to buy some more material. Let's see, I'm thinking, we lose the bangs, maybe some layers-" Lonnie cut her off.
"Oh no, no, no! I want it cool." She turned to Mal, "Like Mal's." She looked up at her.
"Really? The split ends too?" Mal glared at Evie. Evie shook the purse with the money in it.
Mal groaned and reached for her book. "Beware, forswear, replace the old with cool hair." She recited and she, Jane, Evie and Nikolai watched as Lonnie's black bob transformed into long, brown, wavy hair. Lonnie went to look in the full body mirror.
"I know, I know. It looks like a mop on your head." Evie put her arm around Lonnie. "I'll tell you what, let's cut it off, layer it-" Lonnie cut her off.
"No, no, no! I-I love it!" She exclaimed.
"You do?" Evie frowned.
"Well, it's not bad to say the least." Nikolai begrudgingly admitted, glancing up from his book.
"Well, we're beat, he never compliments, so don't find a way to ruin that." Evie broke out of her shock while Mal was still staring at Nikolai with wide eyes and an agape mouth.
"It's just..." Lonnie took her skirt and ripped it. "Now I'm cool."
"Like ice." Mal added.
Jane stepped in front of Lonnie. She also ripped her skirt. She then realised what she did.
"What did I just do?" She whimpered. "Mom's gonna kill me!"

Carlos came in to the girl's dorm holding a dog. He sat down on the foot of Evie's bed, scratching the dog and started searching something up on a laptop. Mal was sketching something on her bed, Evie was copying down answers on Chad's homework, Nikolai was writing notes about his torture book and how to operate the machines, when Jay burst in wearing a blue jersey with his name and a number 8 on the back. He leaned in one of Evie's bedposts.
"Did your plan work with Jane?" He asked, "Are you going to see the wand?"
"Do you think I would be going through every single spell in my book if I hadn't completely struck out?!" She said irritably.
"Translation to: the plan failed." Nikolai cheekily commented, earning a glare.
"Well, someone's in a bad mood." Carlos muttered.
"My mom's counting on me, I can't let her down!" She flicked Carlos on the head.
"We can do this," Jay declared. They all looked at him. "If we stick together." He finished.
"And we won't go back until we do." Mal stated. "Cause we're rotten."
"To the core." Everyone except Nikolai finished.
"Oh yeah, I found out that Fairy Godmother blesses Ben with the wand at coronation and we all get to go." Evie said nonchalantly. The core 4 stared at her while Nikolai was shaking with silent laughter. "I have nothing to wear, of course." She continued, oblivious to the stares that she was getting. Then a knock came at the door. Mal's eyes flickered from the door and Evie.
She noticed the gaze. "What?"
"Hold that thought." She pointed at Evie as she went towards the door. It opened to reveal Ben.
"Hey Mal, I didn't see you guys today. I was wondering if you had any questions or anything that you needed?" He asked.
"Not that I know of..." She looked at everyone in the room who shrugged - Nikolai being difficult seeing as he was still shaking a small bit from laughter - and turned back to Ben.
"Ok, alright. Well if you need anything..." He trailed off, staring down the hall.
"Oh, wait! She exclaimed. He paused and walked back to her. "Is it true that we all get to go to your coronation?"
Ben smiled. "Yeah, the whole school goes."
"Wow, that is beyond wonderful. Is it possible that we can all sit in the front row so we can see the coronation up close?" He looked like he would let them then he frowned slightly.
"I wish you could." He said sadly. "But up front, it's just me, my folks and my girlfriend." Nikolai gained a thoughtful look after he said that.
"And your girlfriend?" Mal repeated, thinking of a plan.
"Yeah, I'm sorry." She smiled brightly at him.
"Ok thanks bye." She said, shutting the door in his face. She turned to the others with a wicked smile on her face and noticed Nikolai's evil smirk. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
He chucked her spell book at her, strode out the room but not before whispering in her ear, "Love spell." And left her to explain to the others what the plan was.
