TJ and I went on our way to his place, on our way, he showed me a picture of Terry. He was a bald guy, who had a blonde goatee, and beautiful, sparkling blue eyes, on a scale of 1-10, I would give him a solid nine. We were on the road for about 25 minutes, before he pulled up to a gate, which after punching a code into his phone, the gate opened, and we continued driving up a nicely maintained, blacktop driveway.
After about a quarter of a mile of travel, we finally arrived at TJ's place, which was absolutely gorgeous! A beautiful two-story house, that looked like it had just been built. Once we pulled up to the house in front of the garage, I saw TJ send a text, then we got out of the car, beginning our walk up to the door. When we got to the front door, there he was, the big man himself. Terry was standing there to let us in.
I was behind TJ, so he went through the door first, then I followed behind him. As I passed Terry, I felt him take his hand and give me a swat on the backside, which I was not expecting! When TJ turned and saw my face, he grinned at me. He knew what happened without me saying a word about it.
"He swatted you, didn't he?" TJ asked.
"Yup, I think he did." I replied.
"Just think of it as Terry's way of saying he likes you, he doesn't mean anything creepy by it." TJ said.
As we were walking through the house, I looked around at the living room as we passed through to take the stairs up to the second floor. The ceilings were cathedral in style, with a beautiful glass chandelier hanging in the center of the room, giving off plenty of light to see from wall to wall, the walls were a bright white, adding to the brightness of the room. Black and white furnishings added contrast and comfort to the room, with an enormous TV on the wall over a stone fireplace.
As we took the stairs up to the second floor, the same color scheme continued upstairs, white as far as the eye could see, including down the long hallway, where bright lights easily lit the way down the hall. Once we got to one of the six rooms, TJ opened the door, leading me in, informing me that I would be staying there. The bed was easily a king-sized, with the biggest, fluffiest pillows one could ever hope to rest their head on, it made you anxious to want to go to bed at night.
Terry brought my bags in behind me, placing them by the walk-in closet out of the way. TJ finally made introductions between Terry and I, and to my pleasant surprise, Terry was an absolute gentleman.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Mike." Terry said in a deep, but soft spoken manner.
The way he sounded surprised me, since he was every bit of at least 6'10" in height, and had to be close to, if not slightly over the 400 pound mark. However, judging by his powerful arms, not much of that 400 pounds of his was fat, you could tell he took very good care of himself. Just when I thought TJ was going to lead us downstairs, he suddenly went toward the door.
"I think I'll let the two of you get acquainted." TJ said, before slipping out the door, closing it behind him....... AWKWARD!....... at least for me.
"So TJ tells me you've had some bad luck with guys lately." Terry asked.
"You could say that." I replied, "It even lead me to being temporarily kicked out of where I was staying."
"Lex, right?" Terry asked, "That's what TJ said happened to you, I'm sorry to hear that buddy."
"It seems like every time I find a guy that likes me, something happens where I end up alone." I told Terry.
Terry walked over to the bed after I sat down, crouching down in front of me.
"Hey." Terry said, "You don't have to worry about that anymore, you're with friends now."
I looked into Terry's eyes, just in time to see him smile at me. This guy had one of those killer smiles that could stop anyone in their tracks. I leaned in, hoping for a hug, because it was exactly what I needed. Then, just I had hoped, that's exactly what Terry gave me. I could feel all the stresses of days prior going away. Terry then let go of the hug, not wanting to overdo it.
"Is that what you needed?" Terry asked.
"Yeah." I replied, nodding.
"Come on, let's go downstairs with TJ." Terry said, waving me to go with him.
I went downstairs with Terry, then we both sat together on the couch, watching TV with TJ. I must have fallen asleep, because after three hours, I felt Terry gently shaking me to wake me up for bed.
"Wake up Mike, we have to go to bed now, but we have to be on alert tonight, the weather man says there's going to be some pretty nasty weather to move through." Terry said.
One thing I absolutely despise, is bad weather, no matter what form it comes in. I've lived through blizzards, wind storms, and thunderstorms, but NOTHING would prepare me for what was about to happen in the middle of the night. Terry made sure I was settled in before going to bed, then he went on to bed himself.
Then, at 3:00am, the very definition of "ALL HELL", would break loose!
