When A Dream Becomes Reality Part 6

   The next day, Jamie and I had to be up early, because Stuart and Savannah were going back to work. So, at 7am, not a minute sooner or later, we were all out of bed. Caiden was still asleep, so I had a chance to get past his room without waking him. At 7:30 sharp, that's when Lex arrived, and unfortunately, that's also when Caiden decided to rise from his slumber. As Lex entered the house, that's when Jamie went back to get Caiden, and get him ready for the day.

   About five minutes later, I heard Jamie say, "Go play."

   Then, I heard the chilling sound of a squealing child. I looked down the hall, and here he came at full speed, squealing the entire way down the hall, with Jamie chasing behind him. Caiden entered the living room, and was about to pounce me, when he saw Lex, who looked down at Caiden with a raised brow. This stopped Caiden dead in his tracks, the squealing stopped cold, and he ran to the couch, climbed up, sat down, and WOULD NOT MOVE.

   Savannah saw this, and to our surprise, she was not pleased.

   "What was that?" Savannah asked Lex.

   "What do you mean?" Lex asked.

   "What do you mean "What do you mean?" Savannah said, "You just intimidated my son!"

   "What?!" Lex asked, "All I did was raise my brow, how does that count as intimidation?"

   "Look how scared he is!" Savannah said, her voice getting angrier.

   "If I did scare him, it was unintentional!" Lex tried to say.

   "You know what, get out of my house!" Savannah said, pointing to the door.

   "SAVANNAH!" Jamie yelled.

   "This is my house Jamie, he's not going to come in here like that and scare my kid!" Savannah said.

   "Your kid?" Stuart said.

   "You know what I mean Stuart." Savannah said, then she looked back at Lex, "Now get out!"

   Lex didn't say a word after that, he simply turned to the door, walked out, got in his truck, then left. None of us could believe what Savannah had done. Jamie just stood there dumbstruck, she'd never seen Savannah act that way toward anyone. On one side of the coin, we could understand that she was in momma hen mode, but on the other side of the coin, it's not like Lex had hit Caiden, in fact, he never even touched him!

   Then what made it even worse, Savannah turned to me, "Since you're the one who brought him here, you can get out too! In fact, you better be gone by the time I get home from work!"

   Stuart tried to interject, but to no avail. He just looked at me apologetically, as Savannah went out the door, slamming it behind her, leaving for work. 

   Jamie instantly came over to comfort me, "She's just angry Mike, she'll cool down while she's at work, then she'll apologize, and everything will be fine." Jamie tried to assure me.

   "No Jamie." I said, "If she wants me gone, I'm going to honor her wishes and go, I'll find a hotel somewhere."

   So with that, I went to the room I stayed in, packed my things, then loaded the car, heading out to town to find a hotel, for how long, I wouldn't know. After a 20 minute drive, I found a fairly reasonable hotel, that thankfully, was also very clean and well kept. As luck would have it, I happened to run into Lex while I was there, but when he saw me, he gave me a really nasty look, then flipped me off, walking away. It was clear I had just lost the one guy I thought I would be with forever, so I left him alone. 

   In fact, later I went up to the front desk, and asked if he was still checked in, they said he had checked out of the hotel, saying it wasn't to his liking, which I knew was his way of telling them, he didn't want to be in the same hotel with me. So, I just went back to my room to get ready for bed. When bedtime finally came, I laid down, hoping I could get some sleep, but at first, that was easier said than done.

   However, I must have eventually dozed off, because I woke up again at 3am, with the room dark. In the morning, I would still be alone, but when I would get up, one of the most frightening experiences of my life would take place, an experience so terrifying, that it seemed to come straight from a horror movie.
