sicheng flipped through the paperwork in his study, sun's first ray made its way into the cozy covers on the bed. his reading glasses rested on his nose bridge with his eyes rapidly scanning the pending work he had to turn in, in his law firm.

the empty coffee cups, his hair pointing in all directions, and the reddened were enough proof that the omega pulled an all-nighter. his phone rang when he signed the final document.

closing the massive folder, he picked up the call. "the heck you want now?"

the person on the line gave an awkward laugh. "is this mister dong sicheng speaking?"

sicheng paused while picking up the empty coffee cups. hearing a professional and stable voice, he pulled his phone away from the ear to look at an unknown number calling him. he frowned while getting back on call. "yes, it's me."

"i am xiaojun, secretary of mr. wong hendery of WayZen Inc."

the omega sat down at this table and opened his laptop. "okay, how can i help you?" he pulled up google and typed in the company's name.

"our ceo wants to file a lawsuit." xiaojun said carefully as if he would be shot in the head if he misspelled any syllable.

sicheng's eyes grew wide as he looked at the information. it was a huge public company that had done IPO a few years ago. "lawsuit? against who?"

"against nakamoto yuta, the ceo of Moto Pharmaceuticals."

the morning wasn't great for yuta at all. he woke up with a headache from the party last night. his eggs were perfect yet they tasted weird to his hungover self. he was stuck in traffic for almost half an hour which did nothing but shoot up his blood pressure and he almost hit a person with a car.

and to put the salt in the wound, his secretary had to leave him on the lurch with bad news of him and his company getting sued.

could this day get any better?

"are you sure this is fucking real, shirley?" the pureblood alpha gravely stared at the beta woman who stood with a distressed face. "i am not having any of this bullshit."

shirley took an irritated breath. "even i didn't see this coming. before you arrived, the plaintiff's lawyer put this right in my face. and i didn't even finish eating my croissant." she looked at the official envelope's cover placed on the desk in front of her boss. "but why does a company which makes health supplements would want to sue us? we make prescription drugs for god's sake!"

yuta faked a smile. "yeah, how would i know?" he eyed the envelope. "open it before i throw it in your face."

her hands flew to cover her mouth. she forgot her place again. she forgot that her boss she does not respect at all is still her boss and he can ruin her sister's career in a single phone call. "yes, sir." she quietly picked up the envelope and started opening it.

yuta ran his hand through his midnight black hair as he watched his secretary open the letter. minutes ago she was relaxed enough to let out her frustration and now she was all tensed, her movements precise yet restricted.
