Dong Sicheng wasn't just a popular attornery in Miami. He came from a very influential family of legal officers back in Shanghai.

The Dong family was an elite family of betas. Known to have exceptional skills in mediating and winning the trails, they were quite rich too. Not until, Sicheng was born and her brother saw her with her child clinging to her arms. Even though she married a non-beta, she was still herself a pure beta and more so his sister. Her brother approached her and couldn't help breakdown when he heard that her husband suddenly disappeared after Sicheng's birth. Though, she never badmouthed her husband in front of her child and her brother, she knew her man was safe and sound.

They were welcomed back into the family but disappointment never left them once it was revealed that Sicheng was an omega. And that's how Sicheng ended curling up into bunch of blankets alone on his bed as it rained outside. It was evening but it looked like midnight had struck early with that horrendous amount of rain and hail it brought together. Worst thing, it was power outage and there was no signal on his phone. Just fucking great. He can't call people or even watch his TV.

But the darkness inside his house didn't bother him. Any other omega would've panicked or searched for his mate. But he didn't. Because he didn't have a mate and there was no reason to get panicked. He has seen the demons in the people's heart, so the ones in darkness don't bother him much. The sound of hail crashing against the tower and roaring wind outside just made him seek the non existent warmth in the covers. He groaned and changed his side.

With his phone's torch pointed at the ceiling, a dim glow covered the entire place. He wasn't in the mood of cooking anything extravagant for himself but anything like chips or crisps would do. He crouched down and opened the cabinets to find them but all his hands touched was the empty air.

After searching every cabinet, the refrigerator and the entire kitchen, he came up with an expired pack of untouched m&ms, a bottle of bad milk and cracked eggs. He's been hanging out too much in Taeyong, his cousin's humble kitchen that he forgot to stock his own. Honestly, Taeyong's kitchen is a whole damn supermarket.
