Another month had passed by since Demon Lord Daiyoukai Taishou Sesshoumaru of the Western Lands and Shikon Miko Higurashi Kagome had barely escaped the village of Lord Masahiro's imposter brother and the plot that could have landed them both in worlds they rather would avoid.

A month had passed since Kagome had bestowed the role of her new protector to Lord Sesshoumaru; a role that he had taken to more than Inuyasha ever had or that the demon lord himself ever believed he would have if things had been different. A role that Kagome suspected was now causing problems for others who were very far away from them and had no idea why these problems were surfacing now.

She prayed for the safety of her friends if that was the case but the powerful miko did not regret bestowing the role of her protector to the Daiyoukai.

A month had also passed them by since the demon lord had admitted his affection for Kagome to her and had waited for her rejection or approval. A month since he had laid his heart bare to her and told her of how he truly felt for the miko and of how he intended to see her rule the West beside him.

Kagome's original words had hurt and stung the demon lord; as if she valued his protection but that she didn't consider him as a potential mate. He knew it hadn't been meant to be taken that way, and that he should have known better; shouldn't have let his bitterness cloud his gaze to what was truly there.

He then later learned that his affection wasn't as one-sided as he had thought it to be; Kagome did care for him and her words before he had lashed out and caused her to run from him had eased his mind a little, but not enough to lay the uneasiness in his heart to rest.

It was only after following her to ensure she was alright that he learned the true center of the problem; even if he had suspected it and still allowed his bitterness, rage, and jealousy to blind him from it.

He had, perhaps, learned more that night than he had ever bargained for. To know that Naraku wanted to try and force Kagome to bind herself to him was almost more than he could handle. He hadn't said anything when she returned to the camp; acted as if he had not followed her and watched as she slowly gathered her things for a bath and sleep before leaving again silently.

He had tensed to that; he didn't want her to be angry if he followed her to her bath. But he desperately wanted to join her there as they had shared one several times before. He knew it would be un-welcome to her right now if he tried to share it; she wasn't inclined to allow it.

But he vividly remembered that first night together, and how that snake demon had nearly gotten to her.

He battled himself and finally stood before walking off after her. He sat some distance from her; enough to see, hear, and smell her. But not at a distance she would consider inappropriate. His eyes were drawn to her form when she began to undress.

As soon as her skin became unveiled, he pleaded silently to whatever kami would listen to him and asked for patience. By the Goddess of the Moon; Kagome was perfect. That was about the only thought he could coherently think of, and he wanted to mentally kick himself. He was not like that perverted monk, but yet he couldn't seem to force his eyes away from the miko and her perfect body.

Her porcelain skin glowed milky white under the moon's radiance and her hair shined blue as her body gave off an ethereal blue-white shine between her, the water of the lake and the moon. Her breasts rounded and plump; waiting to be touched and her hips tantalizingly teasing him from his spot.

Begging him to come to her and to fill them with his arousal; to make her his mate now and hear her plead in pleasure for more.

He unintentionally made a whine sound since he knew his mind was playing upon his desires; one that startled her and forced her to pause as her blue eyes scanned the trees. She relaxed some when she saw him but bit her lips in hesitance and amusement.
