The rains didn't let up for several days, though there were breaks in-between the initial downpour, but now it simply fell and continued to fall from the sky in drowning amounts without an end to the torrent in sight. No signs of sunlight could be discerned from the weather patterns, and no let-up in the howling winds could be heard by the sensitive ears of the daiyoukai lord. Sesshoumaru was forced to remain with Kagome and to try and see what he could do to ease her sickness while they waited for the storms to stop.

He had managed to get her to tell him of herbs that could be able to help in the few moments of wakefulness she had. She hadn't wanted to waste what little medicine she had from her home in the future and she had easily taken the mixture of herbs he made for her after guiding him through how to do it.

But now as he sat close to her and tried in vain to keep her body warm as the winds howled with rage and fury; he knew that she needed human help despite he was hesitant to take her to a village where they would want to separate them. The humans always tried with Rin too...

Her body was becoming immune to her herbal mixture; she wasn't responding to it as much any longer. He hadn't been able to convince her to use some of her own medicine and he wasn't going to be able to save her on his own like this; he knew too little of humans and their ways to do this.

It both worried and frustrated him; he hadn't ever bothered to learn of humans and their culture because he hadn't seen a need to nor had he cared to before now. Rin had changed that some, but not enough to be helpful to him. He had had to rely on Kagome whenever Rin had fallen ill before. Now, as his chosen mate lay there sick and beyond his help...he was restless.

She had been unconscious for the last day and a half; without food or water to sustain her body and he did not dare to unclothe her to bathe her. Even if he was aware that it would have helped; he would not violate her privacy and trust to him like that.

He eyed the cave entry, which he had covered with the hide of a bear he had hunted when it came too close to their safe-haven for shelter. It was to keep the warmth of the fire inside and the cold wind from being too overpowering. The rains did not seem like they would be stopping any time soon. It appeared that Susanoo; god of storms and the thunder...that he was angry and in a new turbulent rage.

He could be considered as a maker of mischief most of the time; but the ferocity of his storms at present didn't seem like a good joke. They were destructive and the daiyoukai understood that many villages would have much to rebuild should he harm them.

He then eyed the miko; her normally soft, perfect-looking and porcelain colored skin was now pale, waxy in its complexion, and covered in sweat as her breaths were short, shallow and very labored. She was beginning to thin due to a lack of proper nutrition and the smell of her sickness got heavier on his nose day by day.

He growled low in frustration and concern; what was he to do? Try to brave the rains to get her medical attention and risk her dying, or wait and see if they stopped and hope that she survived that long?

"I'm sorry mama...I'll do it later." She muttered low as she turned in her sleep

The demon lord felt his insides constrict; her fever hadn't broken after all. In truth, it seemed to be getting worse since she remained unconscious longer and longer. Her sleep wasn't restful as should be. It was interrupted by her dreams and whatever else plagued her mind; something she had softly admitted to him that he had kept at bay for her when nearby.

It was one of the reasons he had not moved too far from her. He wanted her to heal and she needed rest to do it.

Sesshoumaru looked to the cave wall now as his thoughts distanced and his gaze watched the shadows of the fire flickering from it. She hadn't spoken of her family to him much; he only knew she came from the future.
