Y/n rushed over to Asta as he heard his body hit the ground. "A-asta are you okay?" Y/n asked, kneeling down beside his friend. Y/n furrowed his eye brows as he felt something small land on-top of his head and seconds later something smack rapidly against it. "What the hell is happening!" Y/n panicked. "Y/n that bird has the stone we're looking for! Hold still!" Asta said before pouncing on y/n both of them falling to the floor as Asta tried to grab the animal. "Uhh.. thank you magic knights so much" a man tried to speak over the two. "You two quit it!" Noelle spoke with a slight hint of jealousy. "The stone was our chiefs keepsake but you guys can have it, thank you from the bottom of our hearts" the man thanked again. Y/n sighed in relief as the bird moved from his head to Asta's nestling into his hair. "Where are the bad guys?" Y/n asked while dusting himself off. "We've already tied them up, but Magna let one them get away"" Noelle said while crossing her arms. They turned their attention to the leader of the attackers as he stirred awake, giving the magic knights a look that hard to read. "Oh you're awake, you might as well go back to sleep because once I've regained my mana I'm turning you all in. You can all spend the rest of your lives paying for what you've done" Magna said violently. The man was quiet for a moment before speaking "So you've sealed my magic... no that won't be happening. "Everyone get back!" Y/n called out, stepping in front of the civilians. In a split second the man exploded in a hail of crystals in every direction. "H-he killed himself.." y/n said while brushing some of the tiny pieces crystal off of his cloak. Everyone was dumbfounded and left in utter silence. "We'd better go report this back to Yami" Magna spoke. "Y-yes senpai but I have to go speak to someone first!" Asta said. "Okay don't take too long". Asta ran off with Noelle trailing behind him, heading towards the cemetery leaving y/n and Magna to clean up the mess. When everything was said and done the three magic knights got ready to mount onto the crazy cyclone. "M-Magna senpai I'm going to stay with y/n to make sure he gets home safe" Asta said while standing beside the other male. "I can get home myself" y/n tried to reject. "I know you can" Asta spoke. "Whatever just make it home, good work everyone!" Magna said before they flew off leaving y/n and Asta in silence. "Are you ready to show me your broom flying skills!" The green eyed male asked excitedly. "W-well I actually rode an animal here but if you help guide me we should be okay". Asta nodded, watching as y/n took the broom off his back and mounted onto it. The shorter male sat at the back, holding onto y/n's sides for support. "A-alright.. tell me if we're gonna run into anything" y/n said as the two started to levitate into the air, slowly reaching above the trees. "Right!" Asta acknowledged. The broom zoomed forward and Y/n shifted slightly as he felt Asta tighten his hold onto him. "There's a tree coming up on your right!" Asta warned. The two flew by the tree a few leafs and twigs getting lodged in y/n's hair. Asta sputtered as he laughed at the sight making y/n raise an eye brow. "What is it?" Y/n asked very focused on steering. "You got something in your hair!". "It's not another bird is it?" Y/n asked nervously. "Haha no, the bird is still on my head for some reason" Asta said while leaning against y/n's back to pick out the foreign objects. "Y/n you did really great today" Asta complimented, strangely close to his ear. "Oh thanks.. but you were the real hero out there Asta" y/n replied. "it was a team effort!". "Did you mean that stuff you said.. about protecting everyone?" Y/n asked, moving to dodge another tree. "Of course I do, you should know that!" Asta said. Y/n smiled slightly "It's good to know the clover kingdoms in good hands"

The two arrived at base, y/n cautiously stopping the broom and stepping off. "You did it y/n, I'm so proud of you!" Asta praised. Y/n smiled softly, turning his head to Noelle as she walked outside in a huff. "What were you two doing, what took so long?" She asked with an accusing tone. "Nothing, we just flew over" y/n spoke, walking past her into the building.

"So you all got beat up pretty good huh?" Yami chuckled seeing their worn out appearances. "However you idiot bastards have done great!" Yami complimented. "Yeah!"Asta cheered. "The magic emperor has approved our actions and blessed us with a star" The captain announced while holding the silver star out. Y/n took it for second running his thumb over the cold metal before handing it back to Yami. "Alright! Now we're at negative 30 stars!" The captain announced proudly. "N-negative, how?" Y/n stammered. "It was because we destroyed an entire town in our last mission but it really wasn't our fault" Vanessa explained with a shrug. Yami nodded before tossing a small brown bag to Noelle, Asta and y/n. "Here's your pay for this month" he said dismissively. "WAHOOO MONEY!!" Asta cheered with stars in his eyes. "I've never been paid so much before!" Y/n said giddily with the same enthusiasm. "I don't know what you two are going on about" Noelle spoke with a disappointed look. "Congratulations on your first pay boys" Vanessa spoke with a smile. "Since you have money why don't I take you all shopping in castle town since I'm free right now." The pink haired girl offered. "CASTLE TOWN!" Asta said excitedly. "I think I'm gonna st-." Asta grabbed y/n by the sleeve "You're coming with me". "O-okay.."
