"There you two are!" Yami said as y/n and Asta neared. "H-hey captain" y/n greeted. "Hello Captain!" Asta greeted excitedly. "You two look like you just came out of a sauna" Noelle said while crossing her arms. "We got into.. an argument" Asta said with a shrug. "An argument?" Yami repeated with a raised eyebrow. "Yes.. Asta doesn't like it when I let the lions sleep on the couch" y/n elaborated. "I don't like that either!" Noelle added. "Whatever kid, it looks like you're able to do more than walk now. So you'll be heading over to the magic knights headquarters to give a report" Yami explained while taking a puff. "Headquarters?!" Asta gasped. Luck jumped up onto his feet "I bet there will be so many tough people there!" He cheered. "Luck you'll cause nothing but problems so you won't be going" Yami shot him down making him frown slightly. "I wonder what kind of yummy food they will have" Charmy gushed. "You too Charmy, you're staying" Yami said bluntly. Y/n spun slowly on his heels, carefully walking away to be stopped by a tug of his shirt. "Damn it!" Y/n groaned as he was pulled back slowly by the captain. "Too bad y/n, you'd better have your lazy butt ready to go in the morning" Yami spoke darkly. "Y-yes sir!" He replied with a salute.
"BEYOND SWEEEET!" Asta screamed in awe at the size of the castle towering in front of them. "Hey! Could you keep it down you're so embarrassing" Noelle complained while crossing her arms. "I already miss my bed" Y/n mumbled while makes circles with his foot. The three bulls walked through the streets, Asta taking in the beautiful sights while y/n followed behind. "Hey Asta?" Y/n spoke. He stopped suddenly, turning to y/n with a loving smile. "What's up?" He replied. "Do you mind holding my hand so I don't lose you guys?" Y/n said with a smirk. Asta nodded vigorously "Sure!". "Weirdos" Noelle muttered, continuing to walk. Asta suddenly started to walk faster so y/n moved to match his pace. "Hey it's the guys from the golden dawn!" Asta said while waving his hand in the air. The three members stopped, turning slowly to the bulls as they got closer. Klaus suddenly rushed forward, grabbing Asta by the shoulders as he spoke "It's been a while since we've seen you Aster! How have you healed!?" Klaus spoke quickly. Asta flexed his arm while saying "Yeah I slept like a rock and ate like a pig!". Yuno rolled his eyes, then noticing how y/n and Asta's fingers were locked together. "Hey Mimosa! Thanks for the help at the dungeon!" Asta called out to the girl who turned and walked away quickly. Noelle rushed after her leaving the four other knights. "What was that about?" Asta asked while tilting his head. "I dunno" Y/n replied with a shrug, listening to the two girls gush from a distance. "You still do the hands thing?" Yuno asked. Y/n nodded slowly "Sometimes, mostly when I'm in areas with lots of mana" y/n explained. "Let me hold your hand..." Yuno said softly. "Why?" Asta asked before y/n could. "Just for old times sake" Yuno replied with a shrug. "O-okay.." y/n said, sliding his fingers into yuno's. "Such companionship, it's beautiful" Klaus gushed. "This brings back memories, right?" Y/n chuckled while swinging their arms back and fourth. "Yes" both Yuno and Asta replied with a smile. "Alright its time to go give our r-report" Noelle announced, her face covered in blush.
The six magic knights stood in front of the man in his bright flashy royal attire. "What's good? Young knights" he greeted with a wave. So much mana, this is definitely him. "Who the hell is that flamboyant guy?" Asta asked suddenly. Klaus grabbed Asta by the shirt forcing him to knees along with everyone else "You fool! This is the sorcery emperor, his majesty Julius Novochrono!" He explained. Asta and Yuno's eyes widened, both of them immediately falling onto their knees. "Yes that's me, it's my pleasure to personally greet you knights" Julius spoke with a genuine smile. "I don't believe this is our first time meeting" y/n said while looking up a the current wizard king. "Maybe so.." Julius said with a growing smile.
The knights followed Julius deeper into the caste, stopping as the wizard king did. "May I see your grimoire" Julius said while extending his hand out. Yuno quickly handed it over and Julius examined it while rubbing his chin. "Good work getting this knights, I know it must not have been easy" Julius said. "Can you read it?" Yuno asked. "A little" Julius replied while flipping through the pages. "All I can tell you is that this power will grow with you, so treat it well" Julius said while handing the four leaf clover grimoire back. Asta pushed forward, opening his book "Look I have words in mine I can't understand too!" Asta said excitedly. Julius squinted as he examined the book "I've never seen anything like this in my life" Julius spoke bluntly.
Y/n leaned against a wall next to the other magic knights as Julius spoke with Yuno and Asta. "What's so special about that Yuno guy" Noelle said while crossing her arms. "Yuno is extremely powerful Noelle, and it even seems like he's been chosen by a wind spirit" Mimosa explained with a giggle. "Yuno is truely the definition of potential" Klaus added while pushing up his glasses. "Yuno is the definition of bed wetter" Y/n mumbled. All the knights whipped their heads towards him "WHAT?!".
"Y/n Julius would like you to come speak with us" Asta said. "W-why me?" Y/n stammered. "Go!" Noelle yelled shoving him forward into Asta. The two walked over to Julius and Yuno who were waiting. "Ah there you are y/n, I wondered where you had run off to" Julius greeted with a smile. "I didn't realize someone like me was worthy of talking to the great Julius" Y/n spoke sarcastically while crossing his arms. Julius' smiling expression changed into an examining squint. "You two go wait with the others, I'd like to speak with y/n alone" Julius said. Yuno and Asta exchanged a few glances before leaving the room entirely. "Y/n L/n... let me start by saying that you are more than worthy of being called a magic knight, I apologize for anyone who may have told you otherwise".
Y/n tried to keep his composure but the sheer amount of mana surging through the room made it hard to do. "I don't care about any of that, I wanna know where my dad is" Y/n said through gritted teeth. "You know where your dad is" Julius said. "I wanna know how I can get to him". Julius closed his eyes, shaking his head slowly "That I cannot tell you". Y/n clenched his fists "Why not?!". "You simply aren't ready to face him yet, sending you to meet him would be pure suicide" Julius explained. "I don't care!" Y/n argued. Julius smiled softly "Your mother would be so proud of you for making it this far, don't throw it away now". Y/n face scrunched up more but slowly his expressions softened. "I just hate that he's alive and my mother isn't" Y/n explained. Julius nodded understandingly "I know you are... please work with the clover kingdom and its people. When this is over I promise that your father's fate will be left in your hands". "O-okay.. but you'd better promise" Y/n said while crossing his arms. Julius chuckled happily and nodded "I promise young y/n". "May I ask you question?" Julius said politely. "Shoot" Y/n replied. "Do you also wish to become wizard king someday?". Y/n didn't hesitate to his head no "I love this kingdom and the people in it, but I refuse to rule over anyone". Julius smiled at that answer, nodding his head.
"Now that that's out of the way, let's get to the medal presentation" Julius said while placing a hand over y/n's shoulder.
