Chapter 5

"He's home. I'll meet you there" Izzy told the four before walking off. "Wait, who's home?" Michelle asked Alec. "Her contact. He can help us get into hotel du mort unseen" Alec answered. "Shouldn't one of us go with her then?" "No need. Izzy's got it under control." Jace answered, partly because Izzy's got it under control but also partly because he didn't want Michelle anywhere near Meliorn. "Okay, so what do we do?" Michelle asked them. "We are going to get Simon. You are going back to the institute with Alec and staying there." Jace said.

"What? I'm not staying there while Simon's captured by some vampires!" Michelle protested. "It's dangerous babe. Don't you get that? We're not going to put you in any danger" Jace said, trying to defend his decision. "That's my friend out there! What are you going to do? Lock me in the institute?" She asked. "I'm not letting you go out there without training" Jace said sternly. "Luckily that's not your decision to make" Michelle shot back. "You're my soulmate so that's definitely my decision" Jace said, not realizing he was only driving Michelle further away from him. The moment they had a couple of minutes ago long forgotten.

"You know what? Fuck you! I'm not your soulmate and you're not the boss of me." Michelle said before turning around and walking off. Seeing Alec and Jace reaching for her, Clary told them they shouldn't. "Don't." Clary said. "We can't just let her walk away" Alec said. "Yeah well, you should have thought of that before you said all that. It's better if you let her cool off" Clary responded. "I didn't say anything" Alec said defensively. "And you also didn't speak up on her behalf which means you agreed with Jace." Clary pointed out.

Meanwhile Michelle was walking towards her car when she was suddenly snatched by someone, letting out a loud scream she tried to get away from her attacker but when she blinked she was already on top of some building.

Hearing the scream, Jace and Alec were on high alert. "If you want the girl you better give us the cup. But then again I think she'll be perfect for Raphael." The vampire that held her spoke while stroking the side of her face while his other hand was over her mouth to stop her from screaming. "Let. Her. Go." Jace gritted out, already having his seraph blade ready "We will kill you if you don't give her back." Alec added while aiming his bow. Unfortunately they were gone before he could hit the vampire. "Michelle!" Clary screamed.

Jace and Alec were furious. If Clary hadn't talked them out of following her this wouldn't have happened. Then again, if Jace hadn't said all those things she never would've walked off. They needed to get her back. Fast.

The vampire dropped Michelle off in the room with Simon. "Michelle! How did you get here?" He asked her. "Some vamp came up from behind and snatched me" she said, grumpily. "My, my, my, you are beautiful" they heard from behind them.

"My name's Raphael, hermosa." The vampire introduced himself before kissing her hand. "I must say, you are the most beautiful shadowhunter I have ever seen" he complemented her, making Michelle blush a bit. "Thank you" she mumbled. "Don't let captain America hear that. He will kick your ass" Simon snickered. "Captain America?" Raphael asked the nerdy boy. "Jace, he's like head over heels for Michelle, he even threatened me when I wanted to comfort her." "What?" Michelle and Raphael asked at the same time although both with completely different emotions. Michelle was angry at Jace for threatening her friend while Raphael paled even though that seemed impossible and asked it in fear. "Yeah he told me him and Alec would take care of you and that I needed to back off." Simon elaborated. That didn't comfort Raphael at all. He had heard about Jace and Alec and it eerily seemed that they had just kidnapped their mate. "We need to get you back" he instantly said. "Huh?" Michelle asked, confused. "This is an act of war. You need to go back."

At that moment Camille walked in. "Well, aren't you a beauty?" She asked Michelle. "Don't." Raphael said. "She's the soulmate of Wayland and Lightwood" he added. "What is she doing here then? They will kill us!" Camille instantly said before sniffing the air. "We're too late. No one can harm her. When you see them you give her to them" Camille ordered to Raphael. "Keep the mundane as leverage". She added before flashing off.

"Michelle!" "Michelle!" She heard both Jace and Alec calling for her, obviously panicked. "Go!" Raphael said quickly. "But Simon" Michelle protested. "Go!" Raphael yelled, showing her his vampire face.

That was enough for Michelle to rush off towards the voices. "Alec!" She yelled, still a bit mad at Jace. "Michelle!" She heard Alec's and Jace's voices nearby. Jace saw her first and rushed towards her, pulling her in for a tight hug while kissing her head and telling her she was fine. "I'm so sorry, babe. Please forgive me and never leave my sight again. I'm so so so sorry" she felt something wet on her shoulder. Pulling back a bit she saw Jace had some tears running down his face. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said those things. Please baby forgive me." He practically begged her. She couldn't stay mad at him not while he was already feeling so broken "I'm alright, Jace. They didn't hurt me. It's alright" She told him, while giving him a reassuring squeeze.

Alec quickly came after. "Princess are you okay?" He asked her pulling her towards him. "I'm fine Alec" she told him as well. "I'm never letting you out of my sight again" Alec said. "Let's get you out of here, princess." He said allowing her to walk in front of him while Jace took the lead.
