Mosspaw was sitting in a nest in the medicine cat den, her tail wrapped around her paws. Her nose was filled with different scents from the herbs, and Mosspaw was unsure how the medicine cats ever got used to it.

Fuzzytail came around the corner of the den with some marigold and cobwebs in his mouth. He dropped them in front of her and began to chew up the marigold, "At this point your shoulder will not become infected, I just want to put this marigold on one more time. I'll also use some cobwebs to hold it in place."

Mosspaw nodded and started to relax as she could feel the juices seep into her shoulder. She could feel the tension in the den suffocating her. She knew Fuzzytail would not give up until she explained her dream to him, but she was not entirely sure it was from Starclan. Cats have been known to have strange dreams, especially right after being apprenticed. It could have just been her nerves about battle.

As if Fuzzytail could read her mind he said, "Starclan even sends messages to young cats sometimes." He pressed cobwebs over the wound and backed up, sitting down. "Even if it seems weird, it may be important."

Mosspaw sighed, knowing the medicine cat was right. She looked up at him and began explaining the dream. She closed her eyes and tried to remember her dream. She explained the darkness, the claws, and the strange tree that seemed to block the shadows. She remembered to say how she couldn't match the claws to a specific animal, and how scared she was. She explained how the dream made her feel and how strange it was that the tree blocked the darkness instead of light. When she finally opened her eyes, Fuzzytail was looking at her with wide eyes.

"I sounded silly, didn't I?" She said, feeling ashamed.

"Not at all!" Fuzzytail tail said, shaking his head and looking at her with more care, "I definitely think it's a sign from Starclan. They have also been talking to Smallstar and me. However, I am not sure if they are connected yet. Have you had anymore dreams? Or your littermates?"

Mosspaw shook her head. She didn't really talk to her littermates much about their dreams, "Not that I know of," She said, "And that's the only dream I have had so far." She was curious why Fuzzytail was asking about her littermates. Could her dream be connected to them somehow?

"Make sure you let me know if you do. Even if it sounds silly. Now," he said standing up, "How is your shoulder feeling?"

Mosspaw stood up on it, and realized she could put most of her weight on it. There was still a little bit of pain, but most of it was gone, "It feels a lot better than-"

They were interrupted by a cry of pain coming from the nursery. Feathershine burst through the den, "Brownfur is kitting!" She said.

Fuzzytail jumped to the back and grabbed a pile of herbs that Mosspaw assumed he already had ready for this time. "Feathershine, go get Weaselclaw, I believe he went on a patrol. Also it would be super helpful if you could get some wet moss because Brownfur will need the water."

Feathershine nodded and dipped out of the den. Fuzzytail picked up his herbs and followed out of the den, leaving Mosspaw behind. Mosspaw looked around, unsure to what to do. Fuzzytail had not told her that she was good to leave, but her curiosity was overwhelming.

She exited the den and looked around. Most of the cats were hanging around the clearing, just anxiously waiting around. It was always a big deal when a queen had new kits. It was a sign of the clan growing, new warriors were being born. Mosspaw realized that the whole clan seemed nervous. She was curious if it was this way when Russetflower was kitting.

She heard sounds of pain coming from the nursery, and she hoped everything was going well. She heard steps quickly coming from outside of the camp and looked up to see Weaselclaw burst through the entrance, "How is she? Did I miss anything?" He ran down the ledge and stopped beside the entrance, looking around.
