Namjoon slowly walked towards Jin, growing slightly intimidated while in the presence of such a handsome looking man, and the one who's been motivating him for exactly five days since they met.
"Happy.. Wish Day, I hope that's what you can call it. I got these for you. They aren't real, because I know you're not allowed to have real ones, but I made sure to get the nicest looking ones for this occasion, I hope you like them." Jin blushed, handing Namjoon a bouquet of beautiful light blue flowers.
The younger boy thanked him, then smiled down at them, slipping down his nasal cannula for just a few seconds, only to lean closer to Jin, giving him a short embrace as Jin felt his eyes watering with emotion and joy.
Not one second later, Namjoon inserted the small clear tubes back into his nostrils, coughing silently as he invited Jin to sit down beside him next to a table within his bedroom.
"I can't smell these flowers, but I can smell your cologne." Jin's smile widened as he grew timid beside such a fragile and sweet being in front of him.
"And what do you think? Does it smell nice?" The younger boy nodded, muttering a soft "yeah." With a weak yet beautiful smile.
In spite of his teeth having a very thin and damaged enamel, causing them to appear yellowish and almost poorly brushed, Namjoon still had a special glow in his smile and one that shined now more than ever, when having the boy he's been dreaming of for almost a whole week.
"It's crazy how.. So much can happen in almost a week, right?" He asked the older boy who seemed to be more shy than before. Within each other's presence, Namjoon and Jin felt a close connection, yet didn't say many words.
Jin didn't want to risk forcing Namjoon to speak over his fear of the sick boy's condition worsening. But it was almost inevitable for such powerful beings to not start a full conversation, not when they felt closer than ever.
"This week has been one of the best, Joonie. All thanks to you, I was able to loosen up to many people. You've given me more than just a simple friendship, you gave me... A new meaning of life." The eldest admitted, watching as Namjoon's hand was gently lead up to his cheek.
In that moment, not even the sounds of his very heart monitor could echo throughout the room, or any other sound. The room turned into their own little world. Every little strand of barely visible hair on Namjoon's arms could be seen lifted by the goosebumps against his cold hands.
Jin felt as if he truly was being taken to a new galaxy when Namjoon slowly approached his face, the one thing being in the way of their souls truly connecting was the tip of their noses.
From the corner of his eye, the black haired boy could see a clear paper tape holding Namjoon's IV in place, following it all the way towards the machinery that the younger was hooked onto, and it made him feel lucky for a moment.
Not because he was rather healthy, but because he had the chance to be with such a brave and beautiful soul like Namjoon today.
"His hands are cold, and his skin is very pale, just like Neptune..." As it grew darker in Namjoon's hospital room, nothing but a purely prepossessing sight of the kiss they shared on that day as the sun slowly began to set captured a picture-perfect image that could only ever be viewed directly to the sunset as it witnessed how two souls held hands together and basked in the blissful state they found themselves in, hoping not to awaken if it was all just a dream.
The kiss was never once broken by either one of the two boys, but in the back of their minds they knew it would eventually have to meet its end, so before one of them was forced to make a decision, a knock against the door was the end of Namjoon and Jin's first kiss together.
Jin sat up straight and faced the door as Namjoon looked down to catch his breath for a moment, feeling an arm barely wrap around his shoulder. His eyes traced Jin's hand and earned him a smile as he felt his face heating up again.
"I just wanted to make sure that you were doing alright, sweetie. Do you two wanna take a walk outside together?" Namjoon's eyes widened with excitement and anticipation.
"Wait, you mean 'outside outside' or...?" His nurse nodded, helping Namjoon stand up, realizing that Jin was keeping him on his feet as well, never once letting him fall.
"I'll allow it only this once, but you have to promise me that you'll stay nearby. And sweetheart, don't forget to fill out your wish in here. You can take it with you, maybe you'll decide what you want to wish for while on your trip with your companion, here." She smiled, leading Namjoon and Jin out of the dim room and into the brightness of the hospital.
Namjoon strapped his oxygen tank onto his back again and wheeled out his heart monitor with a single hand, just to have one available so he could hold onto Jin's palm.
"Ready, Joonie? Do you feel alright?" The older boy asked, making sure that Namjoon was in good conditions to walk for awhile longer, to which he nodded.
"More ready than ever, this is going to be a walk to remember, Jin."
