Cassian
The first thing that Cassian noticed when Celaena opened the door was that she looked damn good. The leathers fit her perfectly and made her look positively edible. The she demon was getting to him. He and Az efficiently led her up to the roof, and the pure delight in her eyes when looking around the room might have been a little surprising. Maybe it was just a lot for her to take in? Somehow he was not one hundred percent sure that that was the case. But without further ado, it was time to start, so he decided he would lead her through a quick warm-up.
"Alright Celaena, before we start we have to loosen up our muscles. Just follow what Az and I am doing and you will be fine"
He led them through a wide variety of dynamic stretches and was shocked at how flexible she was. It was like she could bend every which way, it hurt him to look at her. He then suggested that they take a couple laps and was pleasantly delighted that she did not grumble and object. He decided to end it after two kilometers, weirded out by the fact that Az and him were panting a little bit and Celaena looked like she just went for a casual stroll. The stamina that she had was amazing!
"Oh Mr. Warrior man, are we ever going to start?" Impatience coloring her voice.
"Sure. Az and I will demonstrate a simple maneuver, and when it is completed, I want you to try and use it on me. But don't worry, I will make it easy for you," he said with a wink.
"They is no need to, but by all means go ahead."
Az and him got into position with Cassian being the attacker.
Azriel then took up the conversation and motioned him forward with the curling of his fingers.
"This is what you can do if someone approaches you from ahead. Normally people outstretch their hand to grab you, which means you should duck and spin so you evade the grasp." Azriel did just that. "Next, with some momentum from the spin, you will want to kick them hard in the stomach, causing them to hunch over," the moves being easily pantomined my both. They had done this drill so many times before with new recruits that they had it down to a science. "And now that they are hunched over you can run in the opposite direction for help." All that got from Celaena was a giggle.
"Is that all you guys are taught? To run away?
This caused Cassian to frown. "Sometimes running is your best option, at least until you have fully mastered defense." He was trying to teach her how to keep herself safe and all he got was flack in return. Yip hee. He was starting to regret ever asking if she wanted to join in the first place, and by the look in Azriel's eyes, the male was thinking the same thing.
In his low and smooth voice Azriel told Celaena to try the move out on Cassian. Maybe he could trip her up a little, shake her never ending over confidence. Only then might she appreciate how weak she was compared to the Fae.
He was slightly surprised when she positioned her feet in a balanced stance but quickly contributed it so beginner's luck. He did just what he did before and approached her from the front with Azriel pointing out tips from the side. And doing just as Azriel had done previously, she ducked, spun, and kicked with such speed and strength that he stepped back a few steps. She was fast. Really fast. His jaw dropped and Az's was down on the floor. The smirk that she had plastered on her face told him all they he needed to know. They had been duped. They had though that they had let a sad little girl into their home, now he could see that they let in a wolf.
