You were playing tag with mom. Your tiny feet tip tapped on the wood floor as you ran away, giggling. You hid behind a door.
"Y/n! Where are you~" Mom was looking around, acting like she didn't know where you were.
Suddenly, she swished the door open and gently tickled your sides.
You burst out into laughter. "Stop mommy! Stop! It tickles!" you squealed.
She then hugged you tightly and lifted you up into the air. You were so high off the ground, you felt like you could touch the ceiling.
"We have to get you ready for school, Y/n," she said, as she helped you dress you up in your clothes.
"Mommy, when are we going to see daddy again? Is he still busy?" you asked with a downhearted tone. Your dad's been gone for a while and the only times you saw him were on holidays. "He used to be here all the time. Is he not gonna come back?"
Mom just gave you a soft smile. "Daddy's really busy with work these days. He's trying so hard to earn money to take care of us, so try to be patient with him, okay?" Even though she looked fine on the outside, her voice sounded like she was about to break down.
You being the naïve child you were didn't think of it much back then, but you wish that you did.
"Okay!" you went outside with mom into the car and she dropped you off.
Later that night, you suddenly heard the front door open. You hopped off your bed and went downstairs, curious to see who came in the middle of the night.
You were pleasantly surprised to see who it was. It was your dad!
You were about to call out to him when your mom slapped him across the face.
"You really couldn't help spending time with another woman this whole time when you are a married man?" she said with a shaking voice. "You have a child! Did you not think about what Y/n would go through as you indulged in your own pleasures?"
Dad just looked at her with an expressionless face that showed no signs of guilt or regret. "I'll send you money to support you both."
Tears ran down mom's face. She looked so pained. "I don't need it. I'll just start working. Why did I even marry someone like you?"
Dad clenched his teeth. "Then let's just divorce already if you're so unhappy about our marriage!"
You watched with your eyes wide open as they yelled back and forth at each other.

"Y/n!" It was Momiji. He tightly linked his arms around yours. "It's been so long, Y/n! I'm so happy you're back!"
"Momiji, you shouldn't carelessly hug girls," said Haru.
"But if it's Y/n, I won't transform!" Momiji pouted as he clung closer to you.
"Haru's right. What if you forgot and randomly hugged another girl?" you said.
Haru grabbed him by his shirt. "Wahhh! Y/n!" Momiji flailed his arms towards you as Haru pulled him off you. You chuckled.
"It's nice seeing you again, Y/n," said Haru. This caught you by surprise since he wasn't the type to say these kinds of things.
You gave him a smile. "You too, Haru."
During class, the school trip forms to Kyoto were being passed out. You took a look at it. You bit your lip as you read that it required a guardian's signature.
