Blake parks down the road from his house. We get out of the car and walk up to the driveway. I look beside me to see a black Volvo. Was I meeting his parents today? He grabs my hand and pulls me to the door.

"We have to sneak upstairs into my room okay?" he whispers. I nod as he opens the door.

We step in and he quietly closes the door. We quickly run up the marble stairs and into his room. He lays on his bed and stares at the ceiling. "What do you want to do?" he asks.

I sit in a chair. "I don't know. It's your house, you pick."

He looks at me and smiles. "Come on," he grabs my hand again and immediately, I feel sparks run up my arm throughout my whole body.

He opens his window and steps through. He holds out his hand and I take it, pulling myself through as well. We walk up the roof until we're at the highest point and he sits down.

"This is where I come to think. When we got back from the hospital when my brother died, I stayed up here for hours, not eating anything," he says.

I sit next to him and he puts his arm behind his back and pulls a bag from his pocket. I widen my eyes.

"Is that weed?" I ask.

"No, I thought it was cocaine," he says sarcastically.

I scoot farther from him. "Have you never gotten high before?" he asks.

I shake my head. "Never, Kamen never shared before and I've never wanted to try it out."

"Well you are today."

He takes out a joint and puts the bag back. He grabs a lighter and lights it up, bringing it to his lips and inhaling the drug.

He hands it to me, I grab it, slowly bringing it to my mouth. "Just do it already. God I can't believe this is your first time," he scoffs.

I put it in my mouth and take in a deep breath, the horrid smoke filling my healthy lungs. I cough and hand it back to him. "How can that possibly be fun?" I ask.

"When you do it more, it gets smoother," he informs.

He's right because the more I do it, the better it is and I'm positive I'm high right now. I haven't been this giggly in forever and it's nonstop.

"You're so baked," Blake laughs.

"Am not! Look in the mirror."

"I know I am and I can admit it."

All I do is giggle. I lay my head in his lap and stare into his green eyes. "Did I ever tell you that you're so much fun to be around? You're a very likeable person," I mumble.

"I could say the same."

I reach up to try to touch his nose, but end up running my hand in his hair. I've been dying to touch it and now, I am. He looks in my eyes and strokes my cheek. I sigh and close my eyes, leaning into his touch. His hand moves to my neck, pulling me towards his lips. I close my eyes and prepare to kiss him, but my stupid phone rings.

"I'm sorry," I scramble to stand up and fish my phone out of my pocket. I look at him, he looks disappointed. I press talk. "Hello?" I ask.

"Kira, honey, where are you?" I hear my dad ask.

"At a friend's house," I say.

"Can you come home please? We need to talk."

"Why not with Kayla and Kamen there too?"

"I wanted to tell you first."

"Okay, see you in thirty minutes."

"Love you," he says before hanging up, not letting me say it back.

I put my phone back in my pocket and turn to Blake. "My dad wants me home. He has something to tell me, I guess."

"Okay," he grabs my hand and we walk down the roof.

************

I walk in the house, Blake walking with me. "Dad?" I call down the hall.

"In here!" he yells.

We walk in the living room and find him sitting on the couch, a glum look on his face. "Hey, dad."

He looks at me, then at Blake. "Who's this?" he asks me referring to Blake.

"This is Blake Cooper."

"Oh, this must be the guy your mother has been nagging you about."

Blake smirks at me. "That'll be me."

He must get this a lot. He shakes his hand and we sit down. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?" I ask.

"Well, I came home today to find your mom's car here and she has work at this time. I made lunch and walked to my room to eat, and I found her with another man. A younger man."

Damn you, Kamen! "Why are you telling me first? Kamen and Kayla suspected it," I ask.

"Because you weren't at school, Kamen called and said you were gone..."

I bite my lip. "Kira, tell him," Blake whispers.

"Why were you not at school today, Kira?" my dad asks.

"Um... I beat up a girl for harassing me and hitting me," I mumble.

"She hit you first and you're suspended?" he asks.

"Yeah, two weeks."

"Did you make her bleed? Did you make the best out of your suspension?"

"Oh, that girl bled. I mean gushed out blood. I would've given anything to see it again," Blake tells him. "I think someone even took a video of it."

My dad breaks into a large smile. "That's my girl."

What just happened? I expected some kind of 'you're grounded for life!' or 'you apologize to this girl right now!' my dad's cooler than I thought.
