It was about a quarter to seven when Rhea jolted up from her sleep to the sound of clashing metals. She got out of her bed and ran downstairs towards the kitchen. She saw Charlie in his work uniform, holding a pan and a stirring spoon, and a couple plates, bowls and cutlery lying on the floor. Charlie smiled sheepishly.
"Good Morning.......?" He said. Rhea chuckled and helped him collect the utensils off the floor.
"Good morning." She said as she handed him the last plate.
"Today, I gotta leave early because there's a new case to be investigated. I might come late too, so don't wait for dinner. Order something for you and me. The money is in the drawer of the table beside the T.V. Please don't try to cook something. I don't want a disaster in the place of the kitchen, when I return." Charlie said as he whirled around the house collecting his things.
"Excuse me. My cooking is perfectly fine." Rhea said offended.
"If by perfectly fine you mean burnt to charcoal or as salty as sea water, then yes. It is perfectly fine. Wouldn't want to repeat last times blunders, would we?" Charlie chuckled.
"Pfft, me? I did no such thing." Rhea said.
"Sure. I'll get going, then. Have a good day at school." He said as he picked up the car keys.
"Bye and same to you." Rhea yelled through the staircase as she walked up the stairs and threw herself on her bed. Sitting up till three at night had done a beautiful job of covering up many topics about Vampires she had remained ignorant throughout the fifteen years she was a mundane, one year she was a Nephilim and twenty-three years she was immortal.
She crawled out of the bed and walked towards the mirror. She winced at the sight of her face. There were huge bags under her eyes and her face was swollen. Her lips were chapped and her hair was a mess. She quickly went inside the bathroom and cleaned herself, picked up an outfit and got dressed. She walked to the mirror and very carefully put on her green contacts that she had been wearing for the past one week to school.
"Not to be rude or anything. But you look like a hag. And that's just the nicest way of putting it. How will the kids in your school react once they see you?" Isabelle said.
"Don't know and don't care. They can even throw tomatoes at me as I walk in and I wouldn't be able to care any less than I do right now about my attire."
"Clearly." Isabelle retorted.
Rhea walked down the stairs and ate her breakfast. When she was done, she lazily trudged towards the door, taking the keys of her car, as Isabelle ranted in her head about the importance of looking good.
The car was a Honda Civic, none too flashy. The black paint of the car was chipped in a few areas, but it would do. She slid into the driver's seat and threw her book bag at the back. She sped through the town towards the school. Most of the cars in the town were like hers. So,it would be easy for her to blend in.
As she parked the car, she noticed that instead of the shiny, black Ashton Martin Victor that had been parked in the place of the Cullens since Wednesday, there was a flashy, silver Volvo same as the one that was parked on Monday and Tuesday.
"Edward Cullen is back to school, to make your life like the paradise of a fool." Isabelle sang.
"That doesn't even make sense." Rhea said.
"Well, I needed some lyrics and they had to rhyme." She replied.
Rhea sighed. All the Cullens were there. The cake was made. The icing being the fact that it was a Tuesday. Which meant there was Biology. She would have bunked the class, if it weren't for Jia and Robert checking up on her attendance every day. And today wasn't her day. She didn't get enough sleep, so most probably she would be in a very crappy mood. She made her way to her locker. She greeted her 'friends' with a smile and set off to her first class, so she wouldn't have to listen to any of their talks.
