Come Back To Me

Leaving

A/N: I'm changing the point of view from first persons (Laura's perspective) to third person. So, prepare for that switch.

The next three days in Scotland go by slow, but in the best way possible. Bucky stays up most of the night to watch the door while Laura sleeps through the night. She begs him to go to sleep, but he insists that now he wouldn't dare risk anything happening to her.

On the morning of their last day, Laura wakes up and sees Bucky quietly packing up their stuff. She watches him for a moment until he turns around and sees that she's awake.

"Good morning." He says and smiles.

"Hi." She whispered and bit her lip. "What time do we leave today?"

"Two hours. We're taking a train." He says and sits next to Laura on her bed.

"A train! I've never been on a train before!" She says excitedly.

"You live in New York and you've never rode the subway?"

"Nope. Everywhere I ever needed to go I'd just take my bike... well I guess Steve's bike." She says and chuckles.

The two of them continue packing and getting ready for the day. When they're both ready to leave the hotel, Laura can't help but get excited to see another new place and ride a train to get there.

Once they arrived at the train station and got their tickets situated, Bucky and Laura find a bench and sit close next to each other. Laura watches the people pass by and Bucky is scoping out the area. When Laura turns her head, she noticed a tall man and women staring at them.

"Bucky..." Laura whispered and kept her eye on those people. "Those people are watching us."

Bucky turns his head quickly and finds who Laura is talking about. Just when he caught an eye on them, they started walking towards them. Bucky stands up and grabs Laura's right hand, dragging her in the other direction.

"Stay calm." Bucky whispered and tried to act as normal as possible.

Laura stayed close to his side and they left the train station. When they turned the corner down an alley, the two people were standing there waiting for them. A gasp escaped Laura's lips and Bucky got in front of her.

"Who are you?" He asked and held his ground.

"We're here for her." The man said and looked at Laura behind Bucky.

With one swift movement, the man and women pressed a button on their watch and they showed their true form. Laura has never seen aliens before, but they are exactly like what she imagined. Bucky's eyes grew wide and he turned to Laura.

"You need to run! I'll hold them off!" He shouts.

"No! I'm not leaving you." Laura responds and they both prepare to fight.

With that, the fight begins. Bucky goes for the man and Laura takes on the women, the blue aura is shooting out of her palms as she fights off the women's large staff. Every now and then, Laura glanced to Bucky to make sure he was alright.

Laura continued to fight and ended up knocking her opponent to the ground and hovered her own staff over her throat. Just before she was about to kill her, Bucky shouts and made Laura turn her head.

The man was holding Bucky against him with a knife to his throat. Laura kept the women down but couldn't help but use another hand to stop the man hands from slitting Bucky's throat.

"Stop!" Laura shouted at the man and he looked to her. "Let him go."

"You're a powerful little one aren't you?" The man said and noticed his hand frozen with her powers.

Laura watched him and could feel him pulling against her. He was strong but she felt like she could hold him off.

"Laura you have to get out of here." Bucky says with his teeth clench shut.

With one hand holding the staff to the women's throat and the other holding the mans knife off Bucky's neck, Laura couldn't help but feel worried that this wasn't going to end well. She tried to think but could feel the stone burning her hand, from using so much of its strength to protect Bucky.

"Let him go and... and I'll go with you." Laura says and looks at the man.

"Aw that's a deal I can live with." The alien says and smiles evilly.

"No!" Bucky says and looks at Laura. "You can't go." He adds and she could swear she saw tears in his eyes.

"I can't let you die either." She whispered. "If I let you go, you will release him. I'll go with you but I will not allow either of you to kill him."

"Agreed. Our mission is you, not him." The alien responds.

Laura looked at Bucky one more time and released her grip on the mans hand and the women's staff. Within a second, the women had Laura's arms bonded and the man pushed Bucky to the ground, letting him live.

The man comes and stands behind Laura and the women and she stares at Bucky as a bright light shoots down and lift her up to a ship.

"No!" Bucky screams and watches her get taken.

He stares at the ship as it heads back into space and tears roll down his cheek. Bucky snapped out of it when he heard steps coming from behind him. He popped up and saw Steve and Natasha standing there, confused.

"They took her." Bucky whispered and flared his nostrils in anger. "She let them take her."

Nat grabbed her stomach and felt sick. Steve's jaw dropped.

"Why did she do that?" Steve asked and stepped towards Bucky.

"She did it to save me." Bucky said and walked past them.

Natasha started to cry and Steve helped her back to their jet. The ride home was quiet. Bucky stared at his hand and wished he could've done more to protect her. He's blaming himself for this.

Natasha is flying the jet, but tears still blur her vision a little and she can't help but succumb to them. Part of her was mad at Laura, but she knew Laura would never let someone she cared about die.

"We will get her back. We just have to wait for them to come back to earth and we will save her." Steve says and tries to see the bright side.

"They're going to take the stone from her. How will she protect herself?" Bucky asks and looks at Steve and Nat.

"Steve... Natasha?" Everyone hears over the intercom in the jet.

"We're here! Tony is that you!" Steve shouts and jumps up to the mic in the front of the jet.

"It's me cap. Peter and I are on that ship that took Laura. Don't ask. We're going to help her." Tony said through a very static connection.

"Tony that's a one way trip. You two have to get out of there." Steve says.

"I can't... bring Laura home... we will win." Tony says then cuts out.

"That was Stark?" Bucky asked and looked at Steve. "He will save her!"

"Yeah. He can do it. And he's got Peter too." Nat says and wipes her face.

"I don't think we should go back to New York." Steve says and sits back down looking at the ground.

Natasha and Bucky turn to look at him.

"We can't take the fight there. It'll have too many casualties." Steve added.

"Then where do we go?" Bucky asked and looked at Natasha.

"Somewhere where they have people to help. Someplace strong and secluded." Steve said.

Bucky knew what Steve was thinking. The only place that was far enough from civilians to be safe but also had enough trained people to help fight back. The strongest country in the world.

"Wakanda."
