We had to partner up. Everyone seemed to find a partner really fast, but I couldn't. Anyone I asked already had a partner. I was left behind.

"Professor, I have no one to pair up with." I said to Lockhart.

"Aah, great. There is this one girl that is also left over. You two can duel together then. I will get her for you." he responded. I nodded and he left. I stood awkward in the middle of the room, wondering who the girl must have been.

"There you go. Good luck." Lockhart said while I stared at the ground. He walked away and I turned around. Lisa was staring to me with wide eyes.

"Oh, great. I thought it wouldn't get worse." she mumbled. I rolled my eyes and walked away. Lisa followed me to an empty space. We stood there awkwardly waiting for Lockhart to give us instruction.

"Face your partners and bow!" Lockhart shouted on the platform after 2 minutes. Lisa and I did what we were told.

"Wands at the ready! When I count to three, cast your charms to disarm your opponents, only to disarm them, we don't want any accidents. one... two... three..." Lockhart continued. I swung my wand high, but before I could do anything, Lisa already had shot a spell at me. My wand flew out of my hand.

"Sorry." I heard Lisa say really quiet that only I could hear it. I grabbed my wand and got ready to move on.

"Do you even know a good spell?" Lisa asked.

"If you call Expelliarmus a good spell, than yes." I answered.

"Try Condundo. It is a spell to confuse the opponent." she said. I nodded and got ready. Lisa counted to three and I waved my wand. I had forgotten to say the name of the spell, but Lisa still got hit by a spell that came from my wand. Lisa looked at me with wide eyes.

"How... How did you..." she managed to say.

"I- I don't know." I said looking at my wand scared but also impressed.

"You know what you just did right?" she asked. I shrugged. "You did a nonverbal spell!" she answered her own question with a hint off excitement in her voice. I looked at her confused.

"Fred and George told me about it. They teach how to do them only in your sixth-year. They say it's very confusing and hard to do." Lisa said. "When did you learn this? Did you do this behind my back?".

I shook my head from left to right. "No, of course not! I didn't even know what a nonverbal spell was until 10 seconds ago." I said. She nodded.

"But how..." she mumbled. I could see that she was thinking very hard.

Suddenly, greenish smoke appeared right above Harry and Draco, which made everyone turn there heads to the scene. Everyone gathered around them.

"Dear, dear. Up you go, Macmillan... Careful there, Miss Fawcett... Pinch it hard, it'll stop bleeding in a second, Boot..." Lockhart said looking at the aftermath of the duels.

"I think I'd better teach you how to block unfriendly spells. Let's have a volunteer pair... Longbottom and Finch-Fletchley, how about you.". Neville's eyes began to widen.

"A bad idea, Professor Lockhart. Longbottom causes devastation with the simplest spells. We'll be sending what's left of Finch-Fletchley up to the hospital wing in a matchbox." Snape said. Neville's face was getting red.

"Well then... how about... miss Black and Lestrange. They're a perfect combo." Lockhart suggested.

"I don't think that is a good idea either. If you haven't noticed yet, the pair recently parted their ways and there developed tension between them. If we were to set them up for a duel, they will end up killing not only each other, but also themselves." Snape said. My eyes began to widen when I realized that Draco didn't knew about my friendship with Lisa. I looked at him and saw him looking angry at me.
