Months Later

Many months passed. Ashlyn had graduated college. Big Red moved around from different jobs from time to time, struggling to figure out what she wanted to do. Ashlyn was still into theatre and songwriting, but didn't have many job opportunities as she got further through her pregnancy.

"When are you going to bed?" Ashlyn asked Big Red. She was lying in bed, half asleep, and he was walking in the room.

"Soon." He smiled.

"Good." She smiled weakly, to tired to have a full smile. A few minutes later, he laid beside her. "Night."

He side hugged her, nestling himself among the blankets. Not very tired, he played with her hair gently. "Night love."

"Hey. Hey, please wake up." Ashlyn groaned, shoving Big Red awake. It was a few hours later.

"What?" He mumbled.

"I don't feel good."

"Like what?"

"I think it's the baby." She whispered. "Like, coming."

"Oh. Oh, yeah, alright." He pushed the blankets off himself before throwing on a jacket messily. He slipped his nearest pair of shoes on. He helped her up and get ready, rushing. "Right, come on, let's go."

"Ow..." She muttered as they walked to Big Red's car.

"It's okay sweetie, it's okay." He started driving, offering his hand to her, which she grabbed. From time to time, she squeezed it.

"Yep..." She groaned, her grip on him tightening.

"Almost there baby." He assured her. "Just a minute."

"I know, I know." She nodded.

He glanced at her. "We're gonna be parents." He turned his attention back to the road.

"Yeah." She managed a smile. "Can't wait."

"Hardly have to Ash." He leaned over and gave her a quick kiss before they pulled into a parking spot.

"Woah." Big Red almost laughed under his breath. He had just walked into the hospital room, and Ashlyn had just had the baby. He sat by her.

"That just happened." She whispered.

"Yep." He nodded, kissing her cheek. His eyes landed on the baby.

"It's a girl." She cheekily grinned. "And she's ours. Both of us."

"She's beautiful." He beamed. "I think she looks a lot like you."

"Really? She looks a lot like you." She observed.

"Both." He shrugged. "Name ideas?"

"Love?" Big Red whispered, seeing if Ashlyn would wake up.

"Mhm?" She quietly said.

"Your parents are about to be here." He told her.

"Oh, okay." She nodded and propped herself up slightly. He smiled.

"You're so beautiful."

"Thanks." She smiled. "You always look amazing."

"Thank you." He kissed her cheek. "Here, wanna hold her?"

"Yes please." She nodded. He gently set the baby down in her arms. "She's too cute."

"Mhm." He agreed. He studied Ashlyn's smiling face, resulting in himself smiling. He broke the silence. "Gosh I love you." He sighed in disbelief.

She snapped her head up and looked at him. "I love you too."
