The weather was just right for the small pale girl that was strolling across the grounds of Coney Island. Her feet were already sore from the too small pair of shoes on her feet and her old ragged skirt was getting plenty of looks from the other customers of the amusement park. But maybe it was her striking hair that was catching their eyes, it most certainly caught Bucky Barnes eye.

Bucky Barnes could have sworn he had never seen that color on a person before. Beautiful auburn hair put into two big braids that swung when the girl walked all the way down to her hips. The girl was small compared to Bucky, but she looked around his age nonetheless.

The auburn haired girl looked mesmerized by the park, she had never seen anything like this back at her old home. She didn't have enough money to actually do anything at the park, but looking around was enough for the girl. As she was walking she was kicking a small rock in front of her. She kicked it a little too hard and it went straight towards a much taller boy. She stopped in her tracks and looked at his feet, he had much nicer shoes on then hers. He then kicked it back to her. She looked up to the boy who had a small smirk on his face. But that's not what she noticed first she looked straight into those icy blue eyes he had. They would have given a clear sky a run for its money. Her face started heating up and she quickly looked back done. The blue eyed boy opened his mouth to speak but the girl had already started back up with her kicking the small stone, much quicker than before he might add.

The pale and now probably slightly burnt girl was tired after her day wandering around Coney Island so she started her walk to the exit of the park. But Coney Island was very big and confusing to the girl who was still so new to New York City. So she looked around for someone who might help her find the exit. She spotted a group of slightly older boys who were laughing at a joke the tallest one had just made. Walking over to that tall boy, reaching up and tapping him on the shoulder took a lot of courage for the much smaller girl.

The boy turned around and looked down at her with nearly a foot and a half height difference. "Hello?" said the tall boy. The small girl just waved back without saying a word. The boy turned his head to look at his friends with a confused look. They just shrugged their shoulders being just as confused as their tall friend. He turned back and asked the girl in front of him, "Can I help you?"

The pale girl's face was starting to heat up again, this was embarrassing for the girl. "Hi!" she said all too loudly for how close she and the boy were, she tried again with a clear of her throat, "Hi. I..um am kind of lost. Could you..um tell me how to get to the exit?"

"Of course I can. How old are you?"

"Twelve."

"Perfect." the tall boy mumbled to himself. He turned around and said to his friends, "I'll be back later lads." With a wink him and the girl were off.

They walked for what felt way too long to the girl. She had not seen this part of the amusement park before, but she kept walking with the boy anyway. "So.. how was..um your day?" the girl trying to start up a conversation.

"Shut up." the boy said with a much colder tone than before.

The girls furrowed her eyebrows, she wondered why he was being so rude now. She was not a fan of bullies or anyone to use a tone with her. She had had enough of him and she thought he was just making her more lost so she stopped in her tracks. Before she could turn around to start walking back to the more busy part of the park a big hand grabbed her forearm. With a yelp she was pulled into the tall boy's chest.

"Where do you think you're going, little girl?" he spoke through a low growl.

The little girl tried and failed to wrestle out of the much larger boy's grip. "Let me go!" she yelled, "Let me go, please!" She was still pleading when he started to drag her to the nearest dark spot of the amusement park where no one could hear the small girls screaming. But it was too late, an all too familiar blue eyed boy had heard her pleads and went running that direction with his much smaller friend trying to keep up with him.
