Baby shower Pt.2

Benjamin's PoV:

I wound on the Floor being tourtured by all of Alex's baby cousins ginny and rodrick while holding a baby who I'm unsure of the name of..I forgot it.

I am stiffly trying to avoid one holding lipstick and the other holding glitter while the baby in my arms pulls at my face.
You just HAAAD to go for the kids didn't you?

And I'm about to have three of them

I look to the side to see Alex looking on in amusement with a camera

Son of a- inhale that is your future wife...being an asshole but still...

"A little help princess?" I try to sweeten her up

"Sure...in a minute I'm enjoying this" she puts a hand on her cheek in endearment

"Alex nooo pleaaase" I whine as lipstick is smeared on my cheek and glitter spills on my pants...wealp...I didn't like this 2,000$ suit anyway..

"You are about to be a father of 3, consider this a test"

I growl and put the baby at arms length "that's enough baby" the baby looks like he's about to burst out crying so I panic and bring him back in, he calms down and starts pulling at my face again "Well that didn't work"

Alex sits in a chair "Try distracting him with something else to keep him pacified.."she hands the baby some play keys which immediately grabs their attention, she looks at the two and smiles "who wants to play hide and seek?"

They both say 'me'

Alex smiles "Okay ill count" she covers her eyes and they scatter "1....2..." she stops and looks around "We'll look for them eventually"

I'm left I'm a state of shock and embarrassment, I rub my neck..that took Less than 2 minutes "I lack practice I guess..you really put me to shame there al..." I hang my head

"I just baby sat a ton as a teenager so I understand them better, you're right. You lack practice and that is not something to feel ashamed of" she rubs my cheek

"Spoken like a true mother" I kiss her head

The night goes on as planned, we played games and socialized...I really felt like...I was a part of the family, weird.

Last but not least we needed to announce our engagement to her non immediate family, we purposely told the people we told first to not tell anyone else we wanted that honor for ourselves.

We get up on the deck of the backyard and I clicked my fork on a glass to grab their attention.
Everyone looks at us and I take a deep breath, I wrap my arms around her "I want to start off by sincerely thanking you all for coming out and for the wonderful gifts you brung.
Now me and Alex's relationship has been far from traditional but that doesn't make these years I have spent with her magical...
I don't know who or what I would be if I hadn't met her...but I knew my life lacked substance...It lacked love..

That gift to me is something I could never repay"

I looked in her eyes, she was glowing with happiness and love..I got lost in her presence for a swift moment but then I look at the crowd

"Recently I had the pleasure of getting down on one knee..and asking this wonderful woman to be my wife"

Alex smiles with tears in her eyes "And I said yes.."

The crowd bursts out into celebration, they rush up to me and her to give their congratulations
Nothing could ruin this moment..nothing
The night goes on with me and Alex getting drilled with questions about ideas for the wedding when it will take place and things like that.
