"Ah. Good morning" I yawned as I walked into the kitchen

"Good morning Alex. I made oatmeal porridge and deviled eggs" she said as I took a seat putting them in front of me

"Thanks Mom" I said taking a spoon of the oatmeal and spitting it back out

"No good?" she asked depressed

"Nope" I said taking a bite of the deviled egg and spitting it out as well

"No good either" she sighed

"You're getting better" I said taking one of the toast that surprisingly wasn't burned

"At least this isn't burnt" I said biting a piece before taking a sip of the coffee quickly spitting it out

"What now?" she asked dejected

"It's salty" I said

"Sorry I might have mixed up the salt and sugar containers again" she said before I sighed and threw the coffee in the sink before trying to make one for myself

"Mom" I said

"Yes dear?"

"Are we out of coffee packets?" I asked

"Yes I used the last one to make that batch of coffee" she sighed

"It's fine. I'll head back upstairs" I said taking another piece of toast before the doorbell went off

"That's probably Marcus. Can you please go open the door" she said

"Sure" I sighed walking towards the door munching on my toast

I opened the door and to my surprise it wasn't Marcus but Elizabeth waiting outside in her expensive winter wear

"Elizabeth" I said

"Good morning Alexander" she said smiling at me

"What are you doing here so early?" I said

"I came to see you. Is that a problem?" she said

"No. No problem But can you come inside it's freezing?" I said shivering. My t-shirt and shorts were not equipped to deal with the freezing the breeze blowing inside

"That is just a sign that the snow is gonna come" she said walking inside and handing me her fur coat

"You seem really excited about the snow. You've been talking about it for two weeks now" I said quickly closing the door

"Indeed I am exhilarated at the mere thought of the snow fall" she said before we made our way to to the kitchen

"Good morning Bethany" she said

"Oh hello Elizabeth. What brings you here so early in the morning?" she asked

"I am here to discuss an engagement with Alexander" Elizabeth answered

"Oh you two are going out on a date? Where to" Mom asked

"It's not a date" I said

"My moronic brother is hosting a party and Alexander asked me to be his date" she said

"I said to go as friends" I said

"Whatever." she said

"Well I hope you two have a good time"

"Thank you" Elizabeth said

"Oh since you're here so early. You probably haven't eaten anything yet right" Mom asked excited to try again

"Indeed I have yet to partake in breakfast"

"Good then let me make something for you"

"That won't be necessary. To be completely honest your cooking is completely horrid and I'd rather you not try to feed me until it is at least a little palatable" she responded
