Marinette nearly dropped her phone, tears springing into her eyes.

She knew that voice.

"F-Félix?" she stammered, her throat closing with choked tears.

"Mari? Are you alright?" he inquired, slight concern in his tone.

Marinette quickly scanned her surroundings, realizing that she had drawn the attention of a small crowd, and began speed-walking home.

"Just fine." she spat, staring straight ahead, focusing on getting home as fast as possible.

"And yet I don't believe you," Félix commented, a familiar amused tone highlighting his words.

Marinette hesitated for a second to glare at her phone but continued on her way.

"Why're you calling?" Marinette urged, slipping into the bakery. She nodded to her parents and hurried upstairs.

"I wished to inform you that one, that is a terrible bag, you really should get a new one, and two, my mother is moving back to Paris, therefore, I am as well."

Marinette rolled her eyes, setting her bag down. "It is not a terrible bag, it's a perfectly normal one. And for the record, yo-" she froze, the sentence sinking in. "You can see my bag? Where are you?" she growled, spinning around quickly.

"You look like a dog chasing its tail." Félix snickered, before hanging up.

"Félix!" Marinette screeched, looking around frantically.

She heard another faint chuckle and whirled around to face the noise.

Félix stood a few feet in front of her, a shy smirk on his face. Marinette was hit with nostalgia and heartbreak as she gawked at him. New tears ran down her face as his smirk turned into a sad smile.

"Hello, Marinette."

He held his arms open stiffly, and she bolted for him, almost knocking him down.

Félix had moved in with his mother after the Léo fiasco, not being able to handle being in the same city that the three of them had ruled as the Kings and Queen. While he rarely ever showed it, Félix was quite sensitive when it came to his close relationships, and Léo's betrayal had broken him if not more than just as much as it had Marinette.

The two had remained in contact with each other for the following year but ended up losing touch after a while, both being unable to talk with the other without being reminded of the pain they were still recovering from.

Marinette cried onto Félix's shoulder, much to his dismay. She could already hear him complaining about the tear stains on his newest vest and how dare she cry on him, but she also knew that he was leaving similar stains on her back.
