Amnesia Isn't Permanent, Right?

It was bright.

Lila blinked slowly, eyes slowly adjusting to the light. She had a huge headache, one that was not helping her adjust.

When she was finally able to open her eyes without being blinded, head complaining, she found that there were two other people in the room, a short, thin girl with blue hair tied up in a fancy bun that really suited her. She was wearing a white sweater that had a crown with blue crystals that drew Lila's full attention for a moment, and a light gray pleated skirt, with black leggings underneath.

The other one, the guy, was also wearing a white sweater that had a brain in the same place as the girl's crown was, and black jeans. He had dyed hair, his roots being black but fading into a nice shade of blue. The style really worked for him, honestly.

They both were wearing some sort of black combat boots.

Lila examined the room, finding that it resembled a hospital room from the kids' ward, and that Lila was sitting on a hospital bed, underneath the sheets enough to be unable to see her lower half. She also observed that she was wearing a hospital gown, though she couldn't quite remember pulling one on.

The girl noticed that Lila was awake and quickly nudged the boy, whose eyes immediately landed on Lila. She froze, feeling self-conscious.

"You're awake!" he exclaimed, a smile growing on his face. Her headache did not appreciate how loud he was being.

"Uh, yeah, I am. Where are we?" she inquired, wanting to hide under the covers. How could someone be so energetic? And why was he so excited to see her? She didn't even know him.

The boy's face dropped, a look of worry growing into his features. "Do, do you not remember me?" he asked, much quieter than before. The girl just stood there looking shocked but didn't say anything.

"Am I supposed to?" Lila asked, racking her memory. But as she searched, she quickly found that she didn't remember anything.

It was...scary.

She couldn't remember where she lived, who her family was, who her friends were, heck, she could just barely remember her own name! As she realized this, she fell into a deep panic.

Alright, stop, let's think about this. What do we know?

She knew what her name was, Lila Rossi, but didn't know any of her family's names or faces. She could remember that she was an Amok, but she couldn't remember what an Amok was. She knew that she needed to have the three bracelets that were in her left hand on her at all times, but didn't know why.

Subconsciously, as she went over what she knew, she reached out for her bracelets. The girl followed her movements, eyeing the bracelets as Lila toyed with them, before Lila noticed and quickly dropped her hand.

"Do you know what those are?" the girl questioned, speaking for the first time. Lila hid her hand under the covers, wanting to hide them from the girl's line of sight.

Why?

"Uh, nope. No idea what you're talking about." The girl frowned, before stepping back, seemingly done with the conversation.

What if they were friendship bracelets or something, and you hurt her feelings by saying you don't remember anything?

"Well, I know they're important to me, but I'm not sure why," Lila admitted, sighing and untucking her hand. The girl looked up, before nodding.

"Damn it. The doctor said this was possible." the boy groaned, his head falling into his hands.

"What?" Lila asked, concerned.
