TRIGGER WARNINGS!!
This chapter depicts some minor violence, puking, panic attacks, death, child neglect, regret, just a lot of heavy stuff overall, though I don't think it could be TOO graphic, this is just in case. Can't ever be too safe.IF ANY OF THESE ARE TRIGGERING FOR YOU, SKIP AT:
MINOR VIOLENCE: 'Lila smirked. "Marinette~!"' TO "...so what the fuck was that?"'PANIC ATTACKS/FIRST MENTIONS OF PUKING/FEAR OF DEATH: '"No? Nothing else to say?"' TO 'Sitting in the chair was no longer the cruel Empress of Dupont...'
REGRET: 'Had she gone about it differently' TO 'Lila grew more and more tired...'
CHILD NEGLECT: She went through her memories one last time...' TO 'Lila grew more and more tired...'
DEATH: Basically skip the whole second part of the chapter, though I think you'd be safe to read from 'The next time Lila awoke...' TO 'By now, Lila was shaking...', 'Sitting in the chair was no longer the cruel Empress of Dupont...' TO 'Lila grew more and more tired...', and finally safely start again at 'In another room...' (Those you can read as I don't believe they have anything death related in them, though some of them have the other Trigger Warnings in them as well.)
AGAIN, TRIGGER WARNINGS INCLUDE MINOR VIOLENCE, PUKING, PANIC ATTACKS, CHILD NEGLECT, REGRET, DEATH, ETC. PLEASE BE SURE TO SKIP OVER THESE PARTS IF THEY COULD POTENTIALLY BE TRIGGERING IN ANY WAY!!
The day It happened was fairly normal.
There was no warning, no heads up, not even five last minutes.
The lunch bell rang, and, just like every other day, and everyone flooded into the cafeteria.
Mme. Mendeleieve marched out to the cafeteria, grabbing everyone's attention.
"Everyone, we have a surprise assembly, please push the tables to the side of the room and take a spot on the floor. If you'd rather not sit on the floor, feel free to stand in the back," she commanded, leaving no room for complaint.
Everyone quickly did as she asked, the tables pushed off to the side and hundreds of students sitting on the floor with the occasional standing student in the back.
Mme. Mendeleieve stood in front of all the students, looking around as she waited patiently for the chatter to cease.
It did not.
"Ahem!" the teacher tried, to no avail. "Be quiet!"
More chatter.
" Silence !" Mme. Mendeleieve hollered, which, finally, shut everyone up. " Thank you." she sighed, suppressing the urge to massage her temples.
"Thank you, Mme. Mendeleieve, we'll take it from here." Marinette hummed, strutting up to the stage, Chloé and Marc trailing behind her. The rest of the court was on guard duty, ensuring that no one, specifically their targets, escaped. "Now, I'm sure you all know why we're here, so why don't we just skip that little bit, hm? Let's see, should we start with the big one or her lackeys? Marc? What do you think?" she questioned, glancing to her cousin behind her.
"Ah, it's always much more fun to destroy the lackeys first. Builds the tension." Marc sneered, lips curving into a sinister smirk that sent chills into the bones of the crowd.
