Adrien smiled at her, but the moment was very rudely interrupted by Marinette's phone suddenly letting out a sharp ring, indicating that she was receiving a call. Partially annoyed, she answered, not checking the contact.
"Hello?" she growled, annoyance seeping into her voice.
"Don't you dare 'hello' me." Félix snapped.
Marinette's annoyance fled from her mind, and instead, a sheepish worry crept into her voice.
"A-ah, Félix, hey."
"Yeah, hey. Where the fuck did you go?" Félix snarled.
"Uh, I'm at my house? Adrien is here too," she added, hoping to distract him in some way, any way.
"I'll be there in three minutes." Félix hung up, and Marinette turned to Adrien, eyes wide and smile forced.
"Uh, Félix is on his way. And, well, he's, he's pissed." Marinette squeaked, smile twitching.
Adrien pursed his lips and looked out across Paris. "Oh, do you hear that? Heh, my dad's calling! Well, gotta go, later!"
Adrien stood and went to open the trapdoor. Marinette snapped her arm out and caught him by the collar of his shirt, face still in a forced smile.
"Where do you think you're going, twirp. I already said you're here. Besides, how long has it been since you've seen Félix? I think it's about time for a reunion, wimp."
Before Adrien could retort, the trapdoor swung open, Félix peeking out from the top of it.
"Marinette. Adrien. Get your sorry asses down here. Now ."
Marinette's body went stiff, and Adrien took the chance to squirm out of her grip.
Marinette had seen Félix this pissed only one other time, when Léo had broken her arm, and she was still traumatized from it.
Mainly because of Léo physically hurting her and the pain from her broken arm, but also because, well, long story short, the only reason Léo made it out alive was because Marinette needed to go to the hospital.
The trapdoor opened again, but this time Kagami poked out of it, a glare not unlike Félix's glazed over her eyes.
"Get down here."
Adrien and Marinette robotically crawled through the skylight and climbed down from Marinette's bed and stood as far away from Félix and Kagami as the room would allow. Félix was pacing, and Kagami was playing with her katana, which she had probably made a quick trip home to retrieve.
"Where the fuck did you disappear to? We were all together, and then there was the explosion, and then, boom, you're gone! And no one had seen you! You weren't anywhere in Paris! It was almost like you were Ladybug yourself. Mind explaining?" Félix spat, circling the room as he interrogated the two heroes.
"Er, well, you, you see," Marinette spluttered.
"Well, I'm not the one who went missing, so I'll see you later, bye Marinette!" Adrien chuckled and went for the door.
"Hold it, cousin." Félix drawled.
Adrien froze, halfway to the door.
"Nathalie called, asking where you were. She thought that maybe you were with me. I'd like to know where you were as well, and why you ended up alone with my girlfriend."
Félix had a scary glint in his eye, and he marched right up to Adrien, getting into his face. "Well, cousin? How'd you teleport from one side of Paris to the other, and end up on my girlfriend's terrace?"
