he watched her like a hawk, his eyes scanned her every movement, he knew he needed to loosen up, but something was stopping him. she was laughing as she held a vodka and coke in her hand, taking light sips from it. bucky laughed, "y/n hates vodka"

"you need to stop looking at her buck" steve took a sip from his drink

bucky rolled his eyes, "i cant"

y/n looked at bucky, they made eye contact, "i'm just gonna have to go over there he won't stop staring" she muttered to nat then looking again, "look at him he's like a hawk. that's it i'm going over there" she scribbled something down on a napkin and got up

"go girl" she laughed

y/n handed bucky a folded up piece of paper then continued to walk past him and out the exit,
are you gonna keep staring or meet me outside

he met her outside, "what's wrong with you?" she spat, "i get it, maybe me coming here tonight wasn't ideal for you. but there's so many other girls for you to watch"

he laughed and that was it

"what are you laughing at?"

"are you fucking stupid? i only want you y/n you don't get it, you never fucking got it did you?" he practically screamed

"do you ever stop screaming? you're either silent or screaming" her voice was filled with venom, a tear streamed down her face, "y/n you don't get it, y/n this, y/n that. does it ever stop"

he tried to quieten down, "what do you think you're playing at y/n? you come here, knowing full well i would be here, then you're flirting with other guys. it kills me y/n"

"don't you think i'm hurting? don't you think it killed me to walk away from you that day? it still does! i miss you so much james but you know what it was like"

"we can change, we know now and we can learn"

"can we go for a walk? i dont like being stood outside here and it's cold" she changed the subject

"take my jacket"

"thanks but no thanks" she smiled falsely

they walked, "i miss this"

"james we can't go back to how we were, it's not healthy. i miss you but i can't do it. we can't do it"

"we can learn from it"
