2015© I HAVE RESERVED THE RIGHT TO ALL OF MY WORK ON THE FOLLOWING BOOK PLEASE DO NOT COPY MY WORK, THANK YOU.

GO BACK AND READ THE NOTE BECAUSE I CAN SEE THAT SOME OF YOU HAVE SKIPPED IT BECAUSE IT SAID 'NOTE'. BTW IF I POST SOMETHING THAT'S NOT ACTUALLY AN UPDATE I WILL SAY SO.

I reread the note 6 or 7 times. It's a poem, did she write it? Did she live her life by it? Did she wish she had? Does she want me to? Why didn't she say more?

Usually her notes are clear and simple, easy to understand. Why would she start being so vague now?

The intercom starts to crackle to life, they're probably giving an announcement. "It will be lights out in half an hour, please prepare for bed. That is all, thank you. "

I sigh getting up to go wash and change before lights out. I guess I can always go talk to Steve tomorrow.

~The next day~

I wake up to the intercom declaring me officially late, rush to get dressed for my second lesson, get off my morning lessons early and head over to my pod to collect my latest note. I'll just have to skip lunch today.

I rummage through my box of notes until I find the right one. I then wonder over to Steve's office. I knock on the door politely and wait for a response, "Come in! "

I don't have to be told twice, I crack the door open and slide my head in. He's sat at his desk typing up some kind of report.

He looks up without lifting his head raising an eyebrow, wanting me to get to the point. I walk in and sit in one of the only comfortable chairs in the whole lab. I take a deep breath, I've never directly asked about my former self before, I don't even know if I'm allowed to.

"Um... What was my former self like?"

The only way I could get it out was to blurt it out. This seemed to take Steve by surprise.

"Why are you asking me this now? "

"Uh, I guess I was just wondering. "

"Uh ha? Well I'm afraid I don't know. "

"...What do you mean you don't know, didn't you know her? "

"Nope."

Now I'm confused.

"I don't understand. "

"I wasn't the one who worked with her. Infact I'm sure Dan is the person you're looking for. "

"Daniel? As in the other lab director? "

I didn't expect that! I know that Daniel is one of the three lab directors but I've never seen him in person, no one has!

"Yes, that's him. Why don't you take the rest of lunch to go see him, I'll take you. "

I'm stunned. Daniel the elusive director was the only one who knew my former self.

Steve hoppes up from his chair, excited to leave his report behind. And goes to the door, before realising that I'm not following.

"Coming? "

I just nod, still to in shock to form the words.

I think that Steve sees Daniel quite often, because he spends most of the walk talking to me instead of watching where he's going. Not that a word of what he said reached me.

We finally arrive at an office door similar to Steve's. But only it had 'Daniel Waters' written on the plack not 'Steven Steel'. Steve didn't even knock he just walked right in. As if reading my mind Steve says,

"It's okay, he'd just ignore you if you knocked anyway. Might as well just let yourself in. "

Steve steps to the side, giving me a view of the messy over cluttered office if you can even call it that that is. I look around to see a tall and slender man in his early 30s hunched over a desk covered in pieces of odd parts and pieces. Steve walks right up to him and he doesn't even seem to notice that we're here.

"Dan, Amaya wanted to ask you about her former self. "

Daniel simply continued with his tinkering, ignoring Steve completely. Steve than turns to me.

"Well Amaya, I'll leave you to it. I'm sure that you have lots of questions. "

He than shifts his gaze on to Daniel.

"Dan, be nice. "
