Three wolves sat upon stones in the cold rain. They seemed unphased by the darkness of the night, or the dampness of their tails. One wolf barked into the night, and a wolf carrying a pup in his jaws stepped foward. They shifted into humans, one still carrying the young, and the blonde-headed "human" spoke first. "Why have you brought us this, Cendril?" and a silvery-haired female added in "It is nothing but a pup, born of no right as an alpha or beta. So yes, tell us why." The man holding the baby sighed "I want her to start a new pack. A new bloodline." The man who had yet to speak narrowed his eyes while the other two laughed. The female spoke "You bring a young pup to us-the high monarch-to ask for leadership? As if we didn't have enough on our hands." The silent one finally spoke "She can be alpha. I see something in her. Something that the others who requested don't have." The other two glanced at him, surprised. "What do you see, Kalik? I see nothing but a young baby in his arms, no different then any other of his heritage as an omega." Kalik spoke louder, fiercer, "Your child will lead a new pack, Cendril." he handed Cendril a new slip of paper "Bring her to this building and leave her with the family there." He nodded and said his thanks to Kalik, the female who was known as Annalice, and the blonde male known as Terkiir. The man shifted and dove off into the night, under the canopy of trees that gave him slight protection from the icy rain. He carried the pup in his jaws and when he reached the building they spoke of, he dropped the pup, licked her forhead, and dashed off to his home many miles away in another town. Soon a door opened to reveal a woman, tall for her age, and she looked down at the young pup. Most people would have treated this pup differently, but she seemed to know what must've happened that night. She picked up the pup and whispered to the sky, "The Monarch must have granted our town a new pack. I knew this would happen, for we have too many members for another." She carried the pup inside, where younger children awaited-all "humans" as well.
