I hate roller coasters.
I used to love them, as I was a child and my dad brought me there "to bolster your warrior spirit", he used to tell me. Back then, I didn't really get his obsession with having a son, I just thought it was fun.
*** Short flashback ***
"So, today's rules" Bokuto said, as we were standing in a queue to enter the lunapark.
"Are there rules?" I asked "Again? Please, stop it".
Tetsu sneered at my remark, then added, in a worried attitude: "Seriously, no questions, or else we're gonna stand here all day".
In the meantime, Bokuto was halfway through his soliloquy about the importance of rules in games and supporting his argumentation by means of many volleyball rules I knew nothing about.
"... So rules are part of the fun, young Padawan, aren't they?" he rhetorically inquired.
"Please, say yes, say yes, say yes" Tetsu whispered in my ear "I have to pee already".
I giggled, then replied: "Yes, Master Yoda".
"There you go" he hummed in a satisfied tone, then he started illustrating the rules.
"Rule number one: you have to do your best tomake the person whose name you picked feel special all day through."
Now, that's cheesy.
"Rule number two: you can't lie to them about your feelings. And that's all".
*** End of flashback ***
So there I was, sitting on the rollercoaster with Kenma by my side, and I didn't know what to think nor what to do. I glanced at his profile for a while. He seemed to be spacing out, and I would have paid more than a penny to peek inside his thoughts. His hair, tied in a low ponytail, were more 'puddingy' than ever, in the sense that his black hair was growing out more, as if it wanted to conquer its legitimate place on the cute catboy's head. This way, his jawline was more visible, and my eyes went along it, then moved to his cheeks, his tiny nose, his half-closed eyes...
"Do I have something wrong on my face?", his voice broke the flux of my thoughts, and he spoke these words without even looking at me.
"Huh?! No!" I hurriedly said, and then he cast an inquisitive glance upon me, with his eyelids still half-closed in that relaxed, almost bored, attitude so typical of his, and his usual way of tilting his head sideways, as if to look at me more closely, which I found so cute. He wasn't annoyed, though. I could tell he was amused, almost as if he enjoyed his share of attention, by the slight smile upon his lips. He looked soft and delicate, just like a cat.
"WHOAH!" I sighed, as we got out of the rollercoaster.
"Are you okay? You look pale", Kenma stated, as if he was the med trainee instead of Bokuto, then took my hand, causing my heart to leap in my chest from the surprise.
I could perceive Tetsu's glance on my back. I don't know if he was jealous, but I had to admit I wouldn't mind it. Then, as if he was reading my thoughts, he approached us and offered me his water. I thanked him and drank a bit, and in the meantime the two catboys stared at each other, as if studying the specimen before their eyes.
I almost choked with the water as Bokuto suddenly came to us to claim Kenma, who was probably his pray for the day. He grabbed the poor thing by his arm and started chatting loud about volleyball schemes.
"As Akaashi told me..." he started, then he began flooding poor Kenma with words like "Akaashi this" and "Akaashi that". I couldn't help but giggle at pudding catboy's desperate face.
"What do you think you're doing?" Tetsu spat "I am your secret cupid, so you're mine for the day, you know".
I gaped, then replied, in a fake shocked attitude: "What? You shouldn't have told me that!". Then I had a look at his sulky face, his pout and crossed arms, which caused me to laugh and coo: "Someone here's jealouuuus!".
"No. I am not. Not in the least", he grumbled.
"Hmm, rule number two, you shouldn't lie about your feelings to me" I stated, raising a finger in a deliberately annoying know-it -all attitude.
"I think I've always been pretty honest..." he started, but then, as I raised an eyebrow, he hurriedly added "... lately". Then he lowered and whispered to my ear: "Or should I be more explicit, right here, right now?".
I gulped and mumbled something from an alien language as a reply, causing him to smirk.
"I'm tearing that shirt of yours if you don't stop" I panted.
"Go ahead", he teased.
Just then, we were interrupted by Bokuto urging us to the next ride in the lunapark, which would be the Tunnel of Love.
Since we had to choose in turn the one whose name we had picked the other day, it was now pretty obvious which the couples for the day were. Apparently, Kenma had picked my name as well, Bokuto had picked poor Kenma, but Kenma was also Tetsu's secret cupid, for some weird reason.
The funny part was that nobody had picked Bokuto's name.
"EEEEEH?!?!? HOW COME NOBODY'S MY SECRET CUPID??!?" he cried in utter dismay, causing us all to laugh at him.
"I can't believe this, you can't even make up your own games!" Tetsu sneered. He was laughing so hard he was grabbing his own stomach, and he didn't seem to wanna stop.
Anyway, it was clear I would have spent the rest of the rides with Kenma, only, and I didn't exactly know whether I was fine with it or the thought made me uneasy. The guy was still a whole mystery to me.
But I would very soon find out something really big, once we were in the Tunnel of Love.

I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW!
I know you probably hate me because I promised I'd be updating at least once in two weeks and I didn't manage to keep the promise!
I'm very sorry, but I've been overwhelmed by deadlines here - I actually still am T___T - and also struggling with this story, which is really giving me a hard time... I've been putting up with writer's block for a while now, but at last I finally seem to have gathered some courage and some ideas to go on...
I have to admit I was also a bit discouraged because not so many people are reading this story, and I was used to a lot of feedback because of my Noya and Suga fiction... I'll try not to care too much and still go on! I have to be brave!
I would like to thank these few readers who are still supporting this story, even through all its highs and lows... Thank you for being there!
I'll try to be more constant... because I'm in Konstanz rn, so I might as well respect this city's name lmao
XOXO
