Shingeki No Crystal

I flew through the trees next to Levi as quickly as I could, leg splinted and wrapped, hovering between my gear.

"We have to catch up," I said pointedly. "Is your squad still with Eren?"

"They should be," Levi answered.

That's when we heard it.

A bloody Titan scream ripped through the forest, it's shrill tones vibrating my brain. I instantly knew what it was.

"EREN!!!"

I immediately banked left into the thicker trees, Levi chasing after me. I zipped from tree to tree, never faltering as I willed myself toward my cousin.

I could hear the rumbling of the Titans when I saw something hanging from a tree before us, causing me to investigate further.

As I neared the line, I recognised the silhouette of a body dangling from ODM gear.

"Gunther!!!" Levi screamed, hanging next to me      

My hand absentmindedly reached to cover my mouth, searching Levi's face for any sign of distress. Though he didn't cry or even swell with tears, his eyes yet again darkened the way the did in the clearing.

"I'm so sorry," I breathed out. I reached for him, only for him to snap away from me.

"We have to keep going," he said before taking off.

The next one we saw was Eld. He laid facing the sky, blood trickling from his agape mouth. Then Petra. She was sprawled, neck out, against a tree, a heavy stain across the bark where she had been smeared.

Oruo was slumped at the base of a tree, most his skull bashed in. Levi stopped to look at Petra. He didn't say a word, only staring at her lifeless eyes before moving on.

I shed a single tear as I followed the Captain. I felt the anguish radiate from him.

Another scream and heavy hits rocked the air, propelling me forward once more.

Finally, Eren's Titan came into view, leaning on a tree before picking himself back up. As he did, he stopped and looked forward, confused.

I heard the snap of the timbre before I saw Eren's head be sliced from his neck at the jaw, his forearm going with it.

"No!" I screamed, catapulting past Levi and into the clearing, watching the female Titan bite the nape from around Eren's real body.

"Eren, no!!!" I heard from my right.

Mikasa glided through the trees gunning for the female Titan just as I was.

We both stopped dead when the Titan chomped Eren at the knees and threw her head back. She had eaten him.

Mikasa stared forward helplessly for a moment before her jaw clenched and she flung herself out of the tree.

"GIVE HIM BACK!!!" She caterwauled as she sliced at the Titan. Over and over again she screamed as we bother converged on the best with our blades. 

We withdrew simultaneously, Mikasa shooting to a tree. I hovered above the Titan.

"Avery!!!" Levi shouted from behind me. I looked back at him for a split second.

My body suddenly felt as if it was being compressed by thousands of tonnes, my airway collapsing. I strained my eyes to see the female Titan's hand enveloping me.

My head then went woozy as she lifted her arm back, not hesitating to squeeze when she catapulted it over her shoulder, slinging me into the air.

I felt the wind go through my hair as I fell free through the air, my breaths hitching in my throat, letting out strangled cries.

I knew I was falling. But what I didn't know was how long I would take to hit the ground. It didn't matter anyway. I was dead either way.

My lungs felt as if they were spasming, and I began to starve for air. When I inhaled, my lungs would hiccup once more until I felt bubbling in my throat. I tasted copper.

Everything then went quiet. The pain in my leg and ribs vanished, and I felt a calm wash over me. Everything went black.
