Episode Of Sadness

Episode 6: Letting them go 

She'd been sitting outside the cave for days now, getting the occasional visit from her children and brother-in-law 

 Jarron: "Red, you have to come home sometime. You can't sit out here forever." 

She stayed silent, staring into the cave like usual 

 Dizzy: "c'mon Izzy..just come home, we all miss having you around the house" 

She turned her head slightly, glaring at them both before turning back to face the cave 

Dizzy: "Izzy..they weren't going to stay forever..especially not him..i'm sorry" 

Izzy: "They're going to come back..! They just need time.." 

Jarron: "Red, just let them go already, they aren't worth putting yourself through this pain..your kids miss you..just come home.." 

Izzy: "They have you guys now..they really don't need me anymore." 

 Dizzy: "That's not true!! Those kids need you now more than ever! They have been through so much over these past years and you doing this to them isn't helping anything!" 

Izzy stayed quiet

Jarron: "Dizz, go take a breath. I got this one." 

Dizzy: "alright." 

she walks back into the forest 

 Jarron: "Izzy..we all need you right now, and I know you're not in the best state of mind right now, but for once i'm asking you to set that aside and help your kids..please.."

Izzy: "How the hell am I supposed to help anyone when I can't even help myself right now..? Like, I really don't think you understand what is going through my mind right now J.." 

Jarron: "Then tell me, you know i'm mostly open to listening to you." 

Izzy: "I just wish it was possible for me to go back and fix everything, with all of them..maybe prevent myself from meeting certain people and making the mistakes that I am now stuck with.." 

 Jarron: "I see..well, you could always try to mend things with those that have still stuck around, you'd be surprised how many of them would be willing to try again. Some of them may actually surprise you." 

Izzy: "I guess.." 

Dizzy returns with Deronn, both of them staring at Izzy 

 Deronn: "So this is where you go..I should've known.." 

 Dizzy: "She's been coming here for a while, I'm surprised you never noticed." 

Izzy: :Doesn't matter. Why don't you guys just leave..? I'll be fine on my own." 

  the three of them glanced at each other 

 Deronn: "Izzy, you can't keep pushing people away, we just want to help you" 

 Izzy: she stands up, spinning around to look at them "Well I don't want your fucking help! I've been perfectly fine figuring things out on my own!! Even if lately it doesn't seem like it..I can handle this on my own.." 

 Deronn: "What did Rocko tell you before he left.?" 

Izzy: "..Not to keep everything bottled up inside all the time." 

 Deronn: "Exactly, now let me help you. Even if just by a little bit. Please."

Izzy: "I. Don't. Need. Help." 

Deronn: "Yes. You. Do." 

Izzy: "Please just leave." 

  Kai and Lyla come out from behind one of the trees, tears streaming down Kai's face 

 Kai: "Mommy please..just come home..!" 

Lyla: runs up to her, hugging her tightly 

 Izzy: "Kai..? Lyla..? Why are you guys here..?" 

she'd look up at Dizzy 

Dizzy: "I didn't bring them this time" 

 Izzy: "How else would they have gotten here?!" 

 Deronn: "They must have followed me here, the kids are all concerned about you Izzy, just come home and tell them that you're at least still alive!!" 

  everyone went silent for a bit. After a while, everyone except Deronn and Izzy went home 

 Izzy: "I don't understand why you're still here" she had stood up, still facing the cave 

 Deronn: "Someone has to make sure you don't make more stupid decisions"

 Izzy: "Doesn't mean it has to be you." 

Deronn: "I think it does, you'd probably kill one of the others" 

Izzy: "True." 

Deronn: "Exactly. So, when are you actually going to go into the cave? Or are you just going to stare into it forever?" 

Izzy: "I don't really know right now..kinda just hoped the answer would come to me I guess." 

 Deronn: He'd move in front of her, giving her a tight hug You don't have to do this alone, you know, you have me and the kids. And I can promise you that we're not leaving anytime soon." 

they stood in silence for a bit before she hugged him back even tighter, whilst slightly crying 

 Izzy: "I don't fucking know what to do anymore..I lost them and I don't think they're ever coming back..!" 

Deronn: "Just give it time, you'll figure it out..and I will help you. If you'll let me." 

 Izzy: "No promises.." 

Deronn: "I know, no promises" 

  they'd both laugh a little before finally making their way home
