The Animal Prince

Chapter 28

{Jenna}

I'm stuck in the underworld, but it's worth it. Cybele will be all better and then I'll see my best friend again. No matter what, she'll be alright.

I was crying in the spot we found Cybele in. I knew the devil and his other son was watching me, but like I cared. I just wanted my best friend to live.

"Are you alright?" I heard Xavier ask me. I snorted, the player in our school was asking me that. I bet his father just wanted me gone to, since I was human.

"Why would you-" I cut myself off when I looked into his eyes. Mine and his both went wide at the same time, and it seemed like I couldn't get my eyes away from his. Oh great! Aiden explained this to me, and it only happens with true mates, and I can tell cause the feeling is so strong.

"Lucky me, a player," I mumbled. Xavier grinned like he had just won the lottery.

"I thought you only get mates when you're a werewolf?" I asked Xavier, while looking anywhere but him. If I do I'll forget what I was going to say and probably end up doing something stupid.

"Nope, all magical creatures can get mates," Xavier explained. Lucky me! He was about to say something until another voice caught my attention.

"Jenna?" I was barely above a whisper, but I knew that voice anywhere. I turned around and saw a ghost figure of Cybele.

I quickly ran up to hug her, but instead of hugging her, I ran right through her. We both looked at each other like the world was going to end.

"Please Cybele, tell me your still alive?" I begged. I wanted her to say yes, but I already knew the answer. Her ghost figure started to even cry.

"Xavier, your the prince of the underworld, can't you do anything to save her?" I begged. I would do anything to save my best friend from dying. Xavier didn't look to sure, so I knew he knew something that might be dangerous.

"If she doesn't live, then I'll kill myself to," I warned. I actually would do that, only if Cybele dies. Xavier didn't hesitate in walking over to Cybele after I said that.

"I have to hurry," I heard Xavier mumble. Xavier placed his hand on Cybele's invisible chest, right where her heart would be. He started mumbling words in a different language before a light started to shine.

I quickly covered my eyes and waited for the light to go away. It was just to bright for me to even see. Once I was sure the light was gone I took my hands away.

No one was in the room, not until I saw a huge crack in the wall, and Xavier lying on the ground. I quickly ran over to him and rolled him over.

His heart was still beating, so he wasn't going to die. I carefully hugged Xavier, not wanting to hurt him anymore than I already did.

Once he was breathing fine he wrapped his arms around my waist, and we both stayed on the floor. Xavier lifted my head up after a minute of us just lying there.

"I think I deserve a reward for saving your best friend while almost killing myself in the process," Xavier said. I didn't even have time to register what he said before he pulled my lips on his.

I was only frozen for about two seconds before I started kissing back. I've never kissed anyone this good before, and I can tell you, it felt so right. Neither of us even heard the door open, but we did hear someone laugh, which made us pull apart. It was Xavier's father that was standing a few feet away from us, with a smile on his face.

"Having fun kids?" The devil asked me and Xavier. Shock was probably written all over my face while anger was written all over Xavier's.

"You knew all along, didn't you?" Xavier asked his dad. What! If his dad knew than just great, this has to be my life.

"Yup, and just wait til your brother, Cybele, Aiden, and all; their friends see this," With that, the devil left the room. Oh no! Cybele's going to have a cow when she finds out about this! I can not believe my life just turned into Cybele's, only maybe a little better, I'm not sure right now.

{Aiden}

Everyone was in the living room, no one would say a word. I was still on the floor with Cybele's lifeless body. Zander then looked like he was in a little bit of pain.

"Zander, are you alright?" Alex asked Zander. Zander than got his breathing back to normal, what just happened to him?

"Yea, but that was really weird. The only time that used to happen was when my brother was about to die, he would use some of my life to stay alive, or I would do the same with him," Zander explained.

I was about to open my mouth until we all heard someone gasp. We all looked in my direction while I looked down at Cybele, she was alive!

"Cybele!" I yelled while not bothering to let go of her. I did squeeze her but I made sure she was getting some air in her system. Once she was perfectly fine with her breathing I kissed her.

She ended up straddling me on the ground. We pulled apart after a minute or two when someone whistled. It was Cybele's dad, Alex, and Michael. Oh great! This is not looking good for me. Cybele just giggled and hugged everyone while I stayed on the ground.

She was alive, and crying, but I knew they were happy tears. Everyone was crying, Cybele was alive and looking well. Her skin was back to normal, her eyes were full of that sparkle that I loved about her, and she was able to walk just fine.

After she hugged everyone she then decided to sit on me. She didn't bother to sit on my stomach, but she didn't jump on me which I was happy for.

"Anyone want to tell me why Jenna is in the underworld?" Cybele asked. Everyone looked at her with wide eyes, so she actually did die, I thought she was just coming back at the last minute.

"How did you survive? Once your in the underworld you're gone, there's no coming back," Zander asked Cybele. I pulled my feet closer towards my butt while Cybele tossed her left leg onto my other side and then laid her head down on my knees.

I placed my head on the ground, there is no way I'm getting up any time soon.

"You're brother saved me, and I also saw Jenna down there," Cybele. explained. Everyone looked at her in shock, including me.

"My stupid brother is lucky to be alive, saving someone that's about to die can kill him, that would probably be why I felt the pain, my brother was trying to keep himself alive. I'm bringing him over here now," Zander complained.

Zander quickly teleported Xavier and, hopefully, Jenna with him. We were all in for a shock with what we all had to see.
