Free was on his way to Lui's room, still thinking about what he would say. Trust. He had to have it for the boy and the boy had to have it for him.
He arrived and stood behind the door, hearing how objects were smashing in all directions against the wall inside. He didn't know if it was better to go in or not. Lui looked angry and he might get hurt. But that wasn't what he was worried about, so he took his courage in both hands and entered.
A vase arrived in his direction, he quickly moved away from there and the object broke against the door. The blond then looked towards the blue-haired boy. He looked frustrated, he was giving off only anger and bad emotions.
"What's wrong with you?" asked Free seriously.
"You don't need to know! Get out of here before something happens to you!"
"I'm not leaving until I know."
"You're a big jerk, Free!" shouted Lui at him.
"And why am I?"
"You're really looking for trouble at the wrong time!"
"I worry, doesn't it show?"
Lui laughed, "Haha, are you worried, seriously? You're always looking with those emotionless eyes, how do you expect me to know!?"
"You just have to trust me, that's all."
"What if I don't want to, huh?! Trust is not given like that. You can't trust someone just because they want to protect you!"
"What are you getting at?"
"I've never liked betrayal!"
"And?"
"And what? I realize after so many years that the one who was like my mother was actually a traitor!" shouted Lui, even more angry. He kept telling himself, now, that he had been a fool to trust the counselor.
"People can hide behind a mask, you know? But not everyone does."
"And do you?" asked Lui, raising an eyebrow. "You want to protect me, that's what you say, right?" He received a nod from Free. "But how long will you have that in mind? Maybe you want to earn my trust, and then betray me later. It would have been a lot different from all the other people you've killed. Here I will suffer sorrow that you left me alone, to my loneliness. "
"You're being too dramatic. I won't do that." said Free, trying to calm the atmosphere. "I didn't leave you alive for nothing. If I wanted to kill you, I would have done it right away, the first time we met."
"I don't believe you."
Free growled, "And why don't you? If it's trust, I don't see why you wouldn't accept me."
"I don't want to trust anyone again, especially since that person might kill me."
"I'm not capable of that."
"But I don't believe you, Free! Understand! I'm not ready to give you my trust yet!"
"But when will you be?!"
"Maybe never." said Lui, lowering his eyes. "Get out of here, I don't want to see you anymore for now." He turned around, his back to Free.
The blond tried to change his mind, without success. "But-"
"Get the hell out of here!!!"
The blond decided to leave, seeing that Lui didn't want to hear anything from him. He didn't feel good inside. He would have wanted it to be different. He went to the room that served as kitchen and living room.
