"It's time to leave y/n" says the maid, waiting with your coat in her hands.

"I don't want to leave" you plead to the maid, turning around to look at her.

"Why y/n? Is something wrong?" she asks, taking your hand in hers.

"Yes, very wrong actually. I- I don't think we can leave without Louis." you say, looking her in the eyes.

"Y/n, he is never coming back. But you will always have Lestat, speaking of him. He is waiting outside" she smiles, breaking the eye contact.

The maid was right, Lestat was waiting outside and Louis was never coming back. He made his decision the day he left. You knew he had made his decision when you woke up that winters morning and all his things were gone, and a note left on the counter addressed to you.

When you opened it, the inside was blank. The heart break you felt as you saw the box next to it, as you opened it, Louis' skull ring was in it. Since that day, you had never taken it off.

"Fine, let's go" you mumble, and the maid passes you your coat. You put it on and leave the room, your heels tapping their way down the stairs. When you hit the bottom of them, you walk over to your front door and see the carriage waiting with the coachmen.

"Goodbye" you say to the maid, shutting the door as you left. As you approached the carriage, the coachmen opened the doors and you got in.

"Ready?" asks Lestat and you nod, as he proceeds to wave to the driver of the carriage.

The sound of the reins ring through your ears, the carriage starting to move.

"You seem so sad, why?" asks Lestat, breaking the tense silence.

"What if Louis comes back, Lestat? We won't be there" you say, looking at the floor.

"He won't, I don't think he will come back y/n" he says, gently grabbing your chin. The tears of pain rolling down them.

"Why would someone you love just pack their things and leave, Lestat? Why does this happen to me? Why me?" you sob, into Lestat's hand.

"I don't know y/n, I don't know." says Lestat, as you just lean into him. Sniffling away your tears away desperately.

His arms wrap around you, and you just let them embrace you. Lestat's cold grip holding you tightly.

The day must have flew by, as when you woke up is when the carriage had came to a stop in the dark. But in a small town, lightly lit by some lantons and with a cobble stone floor. You knew by the sound the carriage made along it. "Come on y/n, it's time to enter the cottage for the night" says Lestat, as he shakes you gently.

"Okay" you say, opening your eyes fully now. Taking in the full view of everything now.

Without realising, Lestat had got out the carriage and was waiting on you. "Sorry!" you mutter, taking his hand to get out.

"It's quite alright, I understand your hurt on the inside" he says, taking you under his arm.

You enter the cottage and it felt like a christmas day inside, a smell you had always missed. Why it smelt like that though? No one knew.

"I know we have only just arrived, but it is late and I want to sleep. So tell the coachmen to bring my stuff to me and call it a night" you request, walking up the stairs.

"I will do, y/n" Lestat shouts from the bottom of the stairs. You smile and proceed to look around the upstairs. There was 2 bedrooms, with each only one double bed. This confused you as you were unsure where the coachmen was to sleep but you were sure he would find somewhere.

"This one is mine" you mutter, entering and sitting on the bed. It was soft and plump, just how you liked it.

A knock at the door suddened you to jump up and look over, it was only Lestat. "Your bags, the coachmen will be here in a minute. Your sharing with him, unless you want me to eat him" he says, leaving the bags in the hallway.

"Uhh sure" you says, walking over to grab your bags from the doorway. "Goodnight Lestat" you say, as he enters his room with his own luggage.

"Goodnight" he says, closing the door. As you leave yours open for the coachmen. You dump your bags on the floor and sit at the vanity. Your big skirt flowing everywhere.

You hear the footsteps enter and close the door behind them, taking off their coat and dumping their heavy bag. "Hello coachmen" you say, looking at the mirror. So you can see their reflection. They had not turned around yet though, so luckily you hadn't been caught staring.

"Hello, my love" says the coachmen, as they turn around looking you directly in your eye.

It couldn't be. It can't be. You spun around and squinted.

"Louis" you cried out in tears...
