Xylus

Chapter Nine

It's been a week since Xylus and I have kissed and he's been ignoring me ever since, he wouldn't talk to me, let alone even look at me. I tried to not let it phase me but it did bother me deep down.

I've been trying to ignore the pain in my heart by excessively training, Aurora and Annalise tried to talk to me about what happened, but I wasn't ready to discuss anything and I didn't want to relive the pain, no matter what supernatural being, any form of rejection from a mate is painful.

I know the hatred between vampires and werewolves has been dated back for centuries, but to reject a mate was rarely ever been done no matter what supernatural being they are.

I unwillingly got out of bed to get dressed for training, wearing a sports bra and shorts before making my way to train. As soon as I walked outside, I saw Xylus sparring with a trainee, and the second I saw him, I felt my heart stop, I was utterly hypnotised by this man, I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. He stopped for a split second, and looked in my direction, he knew I was there from my scent.

He looked back at the trainee and continued to teach him, I was snapped out of my gaze when Theodore came up to me.

"Hey Kiara." He smiled at me and I mirrored his expression.

"Wanna spar?" He smirked at me and I nodded at him. We both got into position and many pack members were looking at us, including Xylus, I could feel his eyes on me, it made me feel slightly nervous.

"3...2....1...Go!" Theodore shouted and we both walked around in circle, I looked at him, studying his movement, I saw that he was about to run up to me and I quickly got behind him, kicking the back of his knee to make him kneel and held him in a headlock. He grabbed my arms, pulling me over and I hit the ground. I quickly got back up into a fighting stance and studying his movements once again.

I saw his right hand about to punch me and I ducked, dodging his punch. I used my vampire speed to move behind him, and he quickly turned around, I smirked at him and he looked at me curiously. I moved once again and his eyes rapidly followed me, I repeated my moves and noticed he was getting dizzy, I used this to my advantage and moved behind him once again, jumping on his back and making him roll over, with my leg on his neck, he hit the ground twice with his hand to show that he surrenders, and I smirked in victory.

He got up from the ground and clapped, "That was impressive."

He glanced at Xylus but his eyes were only focused on me.

"Um...Alpha?" Theodore utters nervously and Xylus' eyes snap to him, making Theodore flinch slightly.

"W-would it be okay if you could give Kiara some tips on other self-defence moves? Because she relies more on her speed." I scoffed while crossing my arms, making Xylus raise his eyebrow at me. He nodded at Theodore and stood infront of me.

"Throw a punch at me." He spoke up.

I ran up to him and slid between his legs, before I could even throw a punch, he turned around and grabbed my arm and turned me around, my back facing him. I bet he could feel how loud my heart was beating, goosebumps were all over my body as I felt his breath on my neck. "Not a bad tactic but you're no match for me." He whispered in my ear, making my face heat up.

I knew what he was trying to do, he was trying to make me flustered to throw me off my game, I smirked faintly. I stepped on his foot and used my free arm to elbow him in the ribs, he winced abit, backing away from me and I swiftly moved from him aswell. He looked impressed with me which made me smirk.

He walked up to me slowly, I cautiously watched his every movement, he used his leg, throwing it under mine to knock me on my butt. Before I could get back up, Xylus came on top of me and pinned my arms above my head.

He looked deeply into my eyes as I looked back into his, neither of us said anything, it's like we were communicating but only with our eyes. I bit my lips seductively and he instinctively looked down at my lips, he closed his eyes, as if trying to control himself. He opened his eyes again, his eyes were blood red, there was only lust in his eyes.

"If you don't want people to know I'm your mate, you're not doing a good job, wolfie."
