Error's POV:
(AN: It's really annoying writing out glitched speech so I'm just going to start writing his voice in bold. Just imagine its glitching, kay?)
As I'm sat outside, in the fresh morning air, I watch the leaves sway in the gentle breeze. I take a long sip of my coffee. Ah, the beauty of living in the forest outside of town. No noise, no pollution, plenty of wildlife to admire. And best of all? No. People.
No one to accidentally brush up against and give me a panic attack. No awkward social interactions. No accidentally snapping at people when I'm in a bad mood. Just me and the trees.
Unfortunately, I can't stay here forever. As nice as it is, it can also get really boring. My solution? I schedule time for myself to go into the city every other Sunday, to keep me entertained, ya know? My favorite spot so far is Mt. Ebott Nature and History Preserve. M.E.N.H.P for short ( but no one calls it that).
Legend says that once upon a time, during the Human Monster war, the humans had planned to seal the monsters into the mountain with a powerful spell, never to see the light of day again. Of course, no one knows if it's true. But eventually, the two sides came to a peace, and after a while started to build this city together as a motion of peace..
But I don't really care about the history of the place. What I really like about Ebbot, is that since everyone takes it for granted, there are very few visitors. That also means I get the place largely to myself. Thus! Dear Maybe's and Gentlethems, is why I'm also going today.
As I head back inside I pass the kitchen. Stopping a few moments while debating with myself about doing my dishes. I decide to shrug it off. That's gonna be future-me's problem.
I get dressed and decide to go with some jeans, boots, a blazer and some fingerless gloves. Oh! And I can't forget my glasses. I grab the case containing the round spectacles and shove them in a pocket of my coat. Even if I don't wear them often, they're useful to have on me. Just in case. As I head out the door, I have a strange excitement about me. I don't know why, I just feel like today is gonna go well.
...
You know when I said I had a good feeling about today? I take that back. Because not only is it pouring rain, but the park is FILLED with people.
...Why did I have to forget today was that damn peace treaty's anniversary?
Grumbling, I pull my coat over my head to keep the rain off, while trying to avoid the crowd best I can. Eventually, with quite a bit of effort, I find a nice empty spot near the peak of the small mountain. I plop down, wondering if I should just cancel my trip and go home...
"You know what? Frick you world! I'm gonna enjoy today no matter what you throw at me!" I yell triumphantly towards the sky. Defiance rippling through my marrow.
"So, do you just like yelling at the sky for no reason? Orr..?" I hear a voice say from beside me.
I feel myself begin to scream, that is, before a hand covers my mouth.
Uh oh-
I feel my glitches get more intense, covering my eyes. And the very last thing I can see is a skeletal face, with a black blotch on their right cheek, giving me a very confused, very... annoying look.
...
"Hellooo! HELLOOO!"
As I feel my senses return to me, one by one, I hear a voice loudly screaming into my ear. And then as my sight comes back I realize that I'm now laying on the ground, with the head of a familiar face above me.
"Ink?" I hear myself stutter out, my voice more glitchy than usual.
"Huh? How do you know my name? Are you some kind of stalker? I've never had a stalker before!" he exclaims, starting to shoot more rapid-fire questions at me.
"Wait wait wait, slow down, I-"
"Do you have my address? What about my phone number, Mr. Stalker? Can I call you that? I'm gonna call you that. Anyways-"
"SHUT UP!" I yell, finally losing my temper. "I know you because we go to the same school nitwit"
"...Really? I've never met you before though, or maybe I have..?"
"I'm friends with Dream's brother, Nightmare. We had that huge sleepover at their house?"
"Oh yeaaah! I remember that!"
God, I can feel whatever brain cells that were left in my head being overrun with sheer stupidity, just from being around this guy.
"Well anyways, my name's error. Nice to meet you, I guess."
...
As I make my way back inside, I can't help but think of that Ink guy, or whatever his name was. He gave me this weird feeling and he's...strange, to put it lightly.
I think it might've been something with his eyes. Sure, the way they change colo1r and shape is interesting, but they... they looked almost lifeless.
"Welp! That's enough over-thinking for tonight!" I say out loud to myself, pulling off my shirt to reveal the black and red rib-cage underneath. I pull on my favorite sleeping shorts (they're blue with little ducks, AND INCREDIBLY COMFY.) and hop into my bed. But I just can't shake this feeling...
Like someone is watching me.
Aaaaaand that's it for this chapter! Sorry it's taken me a while, I've been pretty busy. I just got my COVID shot though, so that's good! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed Error's chapter, and I'll see y'all later!
