I was making microwaved macaroni and cheese for part dinner-snack. Then I hear my phone vibrate on the counter, I grabbed it and saw that it was Payton.
Payton: Hey Riley, let's go to the football game tonight!!
Riley: No thx, I'm gonna sit this one out
Payton: Pls
Riley: Nooo
Payton: PLS
Payton: PRETTY PLEASE
Riley: No, thx Payton Bear, I don't want to be some third wheel with your Zackyboo
Payton: Only Zack is allowed to call me that 😤
Riley: WHAT??!! What happened to me?! Your childhood best friend who called you that first?!
Payton: That's what you get for not coming with
Riley: Really??
Payton: Yes really, now get your butt over here and we're going
Payton: Unless I have to drag you myself bestie 😊
Riley: Fineeee bee therrre sooooonnn
Payton: Very much appreciate it, thank you
Payton: Oh and Zack doesn't even call me that lol, he calls me his Prince 🥰
I rolled my eyes playfully, shaking my head with a smile.
"It's been a while since I've seen you smile like that." Olivia said, which I didn't even know she was there.
"It was just Payton being silly."
"Well, I'm glad he's being silly, I've missed your smile." Olivia softly smiles.
I grinned, "Yeah? Maybe I miss it too."
"Good. Let's see that smile more." She chuckles softly, "So what was Payton talking about? You've got plans?"
"Uhh, yeah. He invited me to go to the football game with him, I guess I'll be going."
"Have fun."
"Thanks."

I went over to Payton's house, finding his heartwarming family welcoming me, we had proper dinner, I got a little too full but tried not to be rude.
Payton, Zack, and I left the house to pick up Casey and Brandon. Xavier and Andrew were going to meet us there, but I don't know about Miles.
Zack paid for all of our tickets. We all sat in the highest view of the bleachers, I glanced around, a familiar back figure and brown hair caught my eye.
"Riley, you okay?" Payton asks, putting his hand on my shoulder.
Without looking away, I muttered, "Yeah, I'm fine."
Miles turns around, scamming through the view, his eyes widened as he lays his eyes on me.
As Miles' eyes contacted with mine, he broke away from the contact and stood up from his spot, he politely excuses himself as he tries to leave his row since it was so packed.
I quickly moved to catch up with him, Miles was heading down the stairs.
"Miles!" I screamed, he flinched but did not turn around, "Miles! Miles, turn around!"
He did nothing but continued to go forward, so I ran through the crowd as fast as I could to catch him.
At some point, I caught him by the wrist and we were down at the bottom of the bleachers where a lot of people were easily staring.
He didn't say anything, he just stood there in silence, so I spoke first, I was the one who had something to say.
"Why are you avoiding me? Why can't you look at me in the eye and say those words again?"
He still hasn't said a word nor looked at me.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and drew him close to me, he was finally looking at me, so I continued what I wanted to say, "It's all your fault, you. . . you approached to me first, you made me yearn for more attention and love that I did not know I needed. You lighten the darkness of my life, now, I see things more clearly, more beautifully, my cold heart felt warmth, now I know that not everyone is someone I thought they were, but can be better. My insecurities laid low whenever I'm with you, I feel calm when I'm around you, you always lend me a shoulder to lean on, I feel. . . very important for the first time in a long time, it reminds me that I'm cared for, that I'm loved. The lonely child is not so lonely anymore, because he had someone sticking by his side, like 24/7, I have no idea how he can tolerate a hotheaded, ill tempered kid like him," Miles chuckles, "yet, he always stuck around. My point is, Miles, I can't live without my light, I love you."
Miles' eyes brightened, and his smile grew, "You know, I love you, I always have, and I always will."
I stroke his cheeks with my right hand, "You're the most incredible thing that's happened to me."
"And Riley, loving you was the best thing."
We both leaned in for a soft kiss, it didn't last long, our lips parted as the crowd cheered out loud, not to the football game but to us.
I blushed in embarrassment and shyness at mixed.
Oh, I forgot y'all were here.
Miles chuckles and holds my hand, "Let's go."
As we go our way up back to the seats where the rest of our friends are, the guys kept whooping and cheering.
I was scolding them to stop.
We sat down in two empty seats, the cheers died down and went back to the game, chattering, chanting or whatever.
Miles and I intertwine our hands together, looking at each other happily, and then we drew our attention back to the game like others.
My heart was beating rapidly, jumping in happiness. For the longest time, I have finally found my happiness. My light.
