*5 - Lunch

Marinette sat uncomfortably between Alya and Mylene. After class, they had invited her to lunch. Marinette didn't reply, because, why would they invite her to lunch? Maybe it was another Marinette. And she was utterly shocked when Alya had dragged her to their table. 

Marinette stayed silent, eyeing Lila suspiciously as the girl talked and talked. What is she up to? What is she going to do? What's her next move?

"I am so glad that you gave Lila a chance, Marinette," Alya gleamed. Alya was genuinely happy that her two best friends were getting along. Wow, it was awesome to sit at the same table with both of them and completely ignore the two tensions.

Marinette could only chuckle weakly as she went back into silence, eating her food. Marinette felt the preying eyes of Lila as she watched her every move. She returned a glance from time to time, but the rest of the lunch period was her ignoring the other girl. 

"Marinette!" Lila called, surprising the bluenette sitting in front of her. "Where did you buy that jacket?" she asked. 

"I, um... Made it myself," Marinette replied, hesitant and suspicious of what the liar was planning. 

Lila smiled. "Wow! I wish I had the same skill set as you! I could have made such a wonderful jacket." 

"Marinette does commissions!" Alya butted in, smiling at the blunette who was only silently glaring at the other girl for speaking. "But since you're her friend, she might make it for free, right Marinette?"

"Wait, no-"

"Oh, I can't just do that. Marinette spends so much time on it, it's practically her job. I would be too entitled if I'll just receive it without paying her." Marinette stared at Lila. Usually, she would just accept any gift without paying. Why the heck would she say that?

"Lila! You're so charitable!" Mylene said, praising the brunette. Oh. Now, Marinette knows. 

Marinette sighed, knowing she couldn't get easily out of the hole Lila made her fall into. She could just say no... But it would paint her another bade image.
