She saw it... She saw them.

She could feel her world shatter right in front of her.

Yes, she knew she had no chance, but why did the world have to show it in the worst way possible.

She doesn't know what to do. She doesn't know what to say. So she ran. She ran away.

That's what I'm good for, right? Running away.

Marinette stopped running at a random street. It was near 11 when she finally felt her legs wanting to give up. So she stopped.

She sat on a near bench and hid her tear-streaked face was hidden behind her palms.

How could she foolishly be lead on by that boy? That perfect, kind, amazing boy? She did so much to get his attention, even went as far as to stay all night making copies of her homework in case he forgets his own.

Stuck in her own little consciousness, she didn't feel the droplets pouring out of the sky until she was soaking wet.

She sighed. She doesn't know what she wants to do or what she needs to do, and she feels too unmotivated to move.

She let the rain cry with her. Oh, how she just loves the rain that seemed to match the pain that she feels.

She closed her eyes and leaned back. Maybe lightning will strike her and end her, or maybe an Akuma might come and akumatized her. Sigh.

She was alone. Alone in the grey streets of the usually bright Paris. How could she be so foolish?

She embraced the feeling of coldness and the sound of the pitter-patter of the rain.

She was so indulged in her own mind, she didn't notice that the rain had stopped pouring on her.

A sigh broke her trance and she finally looked up to see a very familiar face holding an umbrella, sheltering her and herself from the rain.

Lila.

What was she doing here? Was she here to make fun of her again? Tell her she lost? If not, what?

"You look so pathetic right now," Lila said, shaking her head. Of course, what did Marinette expect?

"Thanks..." Marinette said, turning her eyes away from her enemy. "I totally didn't know that..." Marinette said, sarcasm lacing her voice. Honestly, she doesn't care that much anymore. It's over. Her life is over.

Lila sighed again. She knows she should be celebrating because Marinette is now broken and somehow, she won. But she's not the one that took Adrien's heart.

"This won't do. C'mon," Lila hoisted Marinette up with her forearm, much to Marinette's surprise. "Let's get you warmed up first, and then we'll talk."
