His question caught you off guard, to say the least.
And to be honest, you didn't know why you went deep into his soul, sought out his feelings, his rippling rage and sorrow underneath his happy facade. His beating heart whose beats felt half hearted. If you knew, you would've answered already.
And so you told him the bare truth.
"I.. don't know."
It was true. you didn't know what tugged you to sink your cursed energy into his mind. Usually, you wouldn't do it so casually, to a mere stranger. Often, there were scars, dents and crevices in peoples' minds that even themselves were terrified of, and that was why they had hidden it so far down, deep, deep, down, where no one would ever find it.
"You don't know?" repeated Gojo, and you could see both amusement and confusion wash over what was visible of his features. "If you don't know, who's going to know?"
You pondered about his question for a short moment, and truth be told once more, you had zero clue. You never thought about why you search into peoples' minds for their emotions and scars.
You would've made a great therapist.
Your reply, to Gojo's question, was once again, "i don't know."
At this point, he just stared at you from behind his blindfold. How he was capable of seeing from behind that dark piece of cloth, you have no idea. Perhaps he saw things another way, similar to you?
As the two of you lapsed into silence once more, your voice broke through the thin veil of silence that was slowly descending around the two of you.
"I believe it's my turn to ask questions," you smiled, teasing, and daring him to say otherwise. However, all you received in return was a low hum. Gojo crossed his legs, looking at you, waiting for your questions to come pouring in.
Your mind spun with random thoughts that weren't particularly anchored to anything. They just floated in the dark abyss of your mind, free of rein, yet you were afraid to voice them all out loud in fears of overwhelming Gojo.
At last, you managed to settle on a single question that would allow you to use to connect the dots, and hopefully answer some of the other questions roaming and plaguing your mind.
