On the third last day, Gojo promised that he'd bring you elsewhere.
To tell the truth, you woke up slightly nauseous after last night's mass teleporting. Assuming that it's a regular side-effect, you smiled through it. After all, Gojo seemed so ecstatic to bring you to today's location, and who were you to take that excitement away from him?
After last night, it became clear that Gojo truly meant his word when he had said he wished to treasure the time the two of you had left.
Thus, today, you had allowed Gojo to drag you out of bed once more, and now you were on your way to god knows where.
After last night, you had also learned something else; distance meant nothing to Gojo Satoru. He had gone from Japan to France in less than an hour, and showed no signs of fatigue.
"Where are we going today?" you asked, as Gojo, once more, dragged you around. He tilted his head and a smile slowly creeped its way to his face.
"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you, right?" answering a question with a question, Gojo successfully avoided telling you anything crucial that would destroy the surprise he had prepared. Frowning at your failure, you dug your technique into Gojo's soul teasingly, intentionally letting your cursed energy flare so he could sense it.
Immediately, as if an iron gate had clamped down on his soul, you felt nothing by a emotionless void.
Even though it felt like a deep abyss on the inside, you could tell Gojo was smiling on the outside, and you gulped.
How many years did it take him to perfect that?
No one you had ever encountered was capable of cutting their emotions short completely. There was always a small glimmer, a small light in the darkness.
But not Gojo.
Almost as if he could feel your shock, Gojo gripped your hand tighter and leaned in, closer to your ear, pausing his teleporting for a moment. from what you could tell, you were currently in a forest, and a dense one at that. His breath tickled your ear, and a shiver ran through you and down your spine as his voice darkened, traveling from nerve to nerve.
"You didn't really think that would work, did you?"
You shook your head slowly, and Gojo chuckled. A burst of air, and suddenly, the ground below you was gone, replaced by empty space.
Frantically, you activated your technique, but Gojo slid his hand over your eyes, preventing you from seeing anything.
"Don't do that," he scolded, and you sighed in exasperation. "That will ruin it. we're almost there, anyway."
After another agonizing long minute, your feet landed on a rough surface, and you felt said surface bend before straightening. Gojo removed his hand from your eyes, and let go of your hand.
"You can look now," he whispered, and so you did.
The two of you stood upon a tall tree. It was probably the tallest tree in the entire forest. No, for miles. You would see the far horizon, the closest city, and the rest of the forest. You stood at the very tip, on one of the protruding branches.
Due to the amount of time the two of you had spent moving, the sun was just beginning to set, casting a molten glow over the city and shorter trees. It was as if God had lowered a golden veil onto the world; and you were at the top, watching as He did so. You spectated and saw it all, every moment, every second.
The shadows of the trees shifted and wavered, bending and twisting as they were forced under the sun's wavering command losing its battle to the night.
A long time ago, you might've been afraid of falling, but now, that very moment, there was no such fear.
Because you knew Gojo would catch you, no matter what.
