MOONBYUL'S POV
"May I see that one?" I pointed on the matching rings behind the glass casing.
I thought it'd be perfect.
It wasn't that fancy. They're silver rings that can fit together like puzzle pieces. One ring has a rising sun engraved on it, halfway out of the horizon of a blue sea. The other has a crescent moon hanged in deep blue sky. Once connected, it looks like they're hugging, the moon and sun despite being separated by the heavens and earth will meet, creating a magnificent eclipse.
I run my fingers over the rings when the saleslady handed them. It felt familiar, like it was calling me. Like it was meant for me, for us.
Moon and Sun.
Moonbyul and Yongsun.
"I'll take it." I smiled at the lady. I decided to give this to Yong after I come clean of my situation.
Then my phone rings.
"Hello, Yongsun?"
"Hi, love~" My girlfriend's sweet voice rings in my ear.
I bowed to hide the sudden blush creeping my face. She doesn't usually use such endearments but when she does, I feel my blood rush.
I cleared my throat before speaking. "What is it? Are you coming over now?"
"No. I actually want you to get ready. Let's eat dinner at Xiumin's before I crash in. Meet me there at six?"
I could sense the playfulness in her voice. It feels like we're back at the courting stage. Thinking about it, I couldn't help but feel butterflies in my stomach.
"Sure. It's a date then."
Going out the shop, I relished the feeling of the dark velvet box that fits in my hand.

THIRD PERSON POV
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!"
The chorus made Moonbyul took a step back being surprised to find her closest friends with girlfriend on their supposed dinner date. Her hand falls on her chest. Turns out, it would be a small surprise birthday dinner with Yongsun, Wheein, Yooa and Xiumin.
Moonbyul felt a bit off prior going at her cousin's restaurant. She was suspicious at her girlfriend's choice of place and the fact that she rented a private room for just the two of them. Well, her gut feeling was right, it wasn't just the two of them.
"Happy birthday to you...
Happy birthday to you...
Happy birthday dear Moonbyul...
Happy birthday to you!"
She couldn't help but feel her heart swell with so much love and happiness, forgetting all her worries. Sure, her birthday wouldn't be until tomorrow but here they are. With her. All together with her.
"What are you standing there for?! Come over." Xiumin becks at her but Moonbyul was still processing everything around her.
She looks around the decorated space, the prepared food, and the gifts arranged on one side. She feels like a child again, excited and giddy."Come on! Don't tell me you're getting emotional over this." The only guy locked his arms on Moonbyul's head as he pulled her towards the table where the three women were all smiles and giggles over her stunned reaction.
