his heart skips a beat when he sees the headline printed on the magazine at the kiosk. he didn't do it. he considers himself retired.

suddenly, the street feels too small for him, the people are too close, he doesn't see a way out. he needs to get away.

his son is eleven months old now. she has decided to spend a couple of days with her sister and his son and frankly, he is glad that she isn't here. he didn't do it.

while he tries to slow down his breathing to prevent the upcoming panic attack, he takes long strides towards his apartment where he rarely spends time. he only uses it to stash his things there.

he knows that steve will be there, he can almost feel it. by now, he often dreams of steve, he supposes that this is a way of his memories returning back to him one by one. he is glad that they do but they feel like dreams regardless. steve can't know about his son. nobody can know about his son.
