[ 8 Song references ]Tomorrow was my last day in New York and I still had plenty to do before leaving the office. I knew it was getting late, and that I should probably go meet my boyfriend at his coffee shop, but I couldn't leave all the work for tomorrow.
As I was talking with Jonah on my phone, I was booking another plane ticket for him to fly to London with me, I was typing an email to my contact on the London Fashion Week to arrange our meeting next Saturday and I was organizing my bag and my desk to get ready to leave.
To say that my head was going to explode was an understatement.Although I stopped everything I was doing when I received a text from Louis.
'Change of plans, I'm downstairs, we're going out.'
I smiled to myself and hurried to finish everything I was doing before, turned off my laptop and hung up on Jonah. I could do the rest tomorrow.
I walked out of the building, still on my work clothes and Louis was waiting for me, leaned against his motorcycle.
"Took you long enough." - He said with a smile.
"I was finishing some stuff."
He rolled his eyes and I walked towards him, placing myself between his legs. He firmly surrounded my waist with his arms and pulled me down for a kiss.
I closed my eyes and gave in, enjoying his touch and his perfume, enjoying his lips and taste. Feeling like that could be forever."I missed you." - I whispered.
"We saw each other at lunch."
"And?"
He smiled at me softly and pecked my lips again.
"Let's go, Romeo."
I put on the helmet and we both got on the motorcycle.
I was yearning for the feeling of the wind hitting on my body again, the adrenaline of Louis driving at high speed down empty lanes, and the beautiful view of the city at night.
The truth is that even if I had been in New York for about a month I hadn't gone out much, only to visit Louis at the coffee place and back to my hotel room.
So it was nice to do something different for once.Minutes later Louis was parking, next to some other motorcycles, on a very artistic alley, well illuminated with little pending lights and the whole extent of the walls, covered in graffiti and street art of all kinds. A group of people were in the middle of it playing music and there was a little crowd around them. The music was soothing and chill, some of the people in the public were sitting on the asphalt and chatting between themselves. When the song came to an end many of them clapped at the artists playing.
I felt Louis taking my helmet out and leaving it on the handlebar of the motorcycle, then he took my hand in his' and we walked over the group of people.
I felt a little out of place because I was still in my work outfit, it being a black suit, and all the rest of the people were wearing casual clothes, Louis was even in sweats.
I looked around and saw everyone staring at us for a few seconds, but then they looked away not giving us any more attention. I let out a breath I didn't notice I was containing.
That was better.
"Let's go to the other side." - Louis said, pulling on my hand to pass through the little crowd.
On the other side it was calmer and there was a girl behind a counter, serving some pints.
Louis asked for two pints and we both sat down on the asphalt, with our backs against the graffitied wall, just like the rest of the people around.
