One, two, three- seven years.
One, two, three- nine months.
One, two, three- twelve days.
One, two, three- fifteen hours. He kept the door open, the candles lit, the incense burnt. Maybe he'll come back...
He kept his clothes neat, his bed made, his comb ready. When he comes back...
He cherished the memories, the dreams, the snowflakes of hope. If he comes back...
He still loved him the same, longed for him, his heart ached for him. Will he ever come back...?
It had been more than seven years since Wen Kexing disappeared. It was like he left and never left.
He became his illusion, always there yet never near; he would repeat the verses of his serenades loudly to remind himself of his memory. The sound of his laughter still echoed in his ears every time he did something that would have made him laugh. His adorable, childish whimpers would pass by his mind every time he did something that would have made him whine. His beautiful eyes and smirking lips were still vivid in his imagination, but as cruel as time was, with each passing day, he was losing image after image of those beautiful memories that he cherished so closely to his heart.
Seven Years Ago
Wen Kexing had sacrificed himself to heal Zhou Zishu, his meridians were destroyed and his hair had turned completely white overnight. Zhou Zishu opened his eyes to a sight which he dreaded most; the sight of losing his soulmate. His heart pounded heavily, emotions of fear and anxiety engulfed his soul, his lips shivered and his eyes widened with terror as his soulmate's hands slowly slipped away from his.
And the realization poured over his head like a hurricane; and he expected everything to happen, but he was never prepared for what came next.
Wen Kexing woke up with an unfamiliar body, to an unfamiliar place, and an unfamiliar person holding his hand. He felt cold, his body was freezing, and the few white strands of hair scattered below his eyes startled him. He looked around carefully, yet none of his surroundings made sense to him. "Where am I?" He whispered, waking Zhou Zishu up from his light sleep.
"Lao Wen!" Zhou Zishu squeezed his hand and proceeded to check his pulse, "How do you feel?" He brushed the hair away from his face, still not used to the brightness of it. "You're awake..." He smiled in relief, "you scared me... Lao Wen...You scared me a lot."
Wen Kexing furrowed his brows in genuine confusion, "Lao Wen?" he struggled to sit up, still inspecting his strange surrounding and the stranger in front of him. "I..."
"Lao Wen..." Zhou Zishu pulled him into an embrace but Wen Kexing didn't hug him back, "how could you do this without telling me? What if-"
"Where am I?" Wen Kexing pulled back and looked at him, "who are you?" A panicked expression forming on face, "Who am I?"
