Chapter 1 Things Just Got Complicated

      The sounds of tires screeching and engines roaring filled your ears; your eyes tracked the racers as they sped through the starting line. Your hands rested on the railing in front of you, beside you the form of your husband stood. His body leaned over the railing as he watched excitedly.

      His head turned to you as he asked, "Where'd you find this batch love?!" You softly chuckle at his exuberance before replying, "Oh, nowhere special just around the city. However, I believe the race will be more than thrilling." He laughed, reaching a hand to turn his mask's eyes. Flipping them to the cheery half smile, your lover responded with, "I have no doubt dear! You always plan the best races!"

      His words bring a smile to your face. The sound of engines and yells drew your attention back to the race. Your eyes gazed at the two riders competing at the front. Hmmm, it seems the my good friend Dr. Su Junzhu is leading. However, the young boy, Li Yunxiang, I recruited from Speedy Courier seems to be gaining. Your eyes studied the two as they neared the barrel maze; Su was leading ahead while the young Li was straggling.

      Your eyes narrowed-What will you do now Li? Your eyes widened at Li's sudden detour. Using the ramp way as a shortcut. You're clever Li. It seemed your husband had the same thought as he let out a surprised gasp. You watched Li's motorcycle fly through the air before landing in front of Su; his bike crossing the line first. He took a risk that paid off, very well done young Li.

      The surrounding audience let out cheers at the win. Confetti rained down as you made your way down to congratulate Li and talk to your friend Su. Walking down the stairs, you could hear your husband exclaim, "Oooo, that kid's motorcycle is crazy! I want one like that!" As you got further down, the workers that saw you parted giving a bow of their head.

     Reaching the bottom, you saw the reward worker giving Li his prize money. She left after he took it; walking past her, you nodded a thanks and she returned one. You came to a stop beside Li as a young girl came rushing up. She punched his shoulder saying, "That was close, but you managed to save yourself Li Yunxiang, your condition today is not bad." Her comment earned a "Show some respect. Don't you know who I am?"

    Their playful banter made you smile as the girl continued, "You didn't know, but I was so anxious up there. I know you want to impress her, but there no need to risk your life." Ah, she's talking about Su. So he wanted to impress her huh? You softly cleared your throat causing Li's head to turn to you. Seeing you, he bowed his head before lifting it. With a smile he said, "Ah! Miss! I wanted to say thank you for recruiting me! I appreciate you asking me to join this race."

      Behind your mask you gently smiled before replying, "Of course Li, I'm happy you had fun and won. I wanted to say congratulations and to ask if I could put you down for a future race?" At your words, Li nodded his head grinning he responded, "Yes! Yes I would love to race again. Thank You M'am!" You chuckled at his words, giving him one last congrats and a see you, before you made your way over to where the gas pump was.

    Such a nice boy, the girl he was with as well. At the sound of a familiar motorcycle getting close, your eyes crinkled. Ah, there's Su. You waited as Su got off her ride, taking her helmet off she greeted you. "Y/N, it's good to see you. I'm sorry for not winning the race." You chuckled at her words, shaking your head you replied, "It's quite alright my friend. No need to apologize, I know you enjoyed the competition. Is it alright for me to assume I can put you down for the next one?"

      She smiled gratefully, replying with, "Thank you, and I wish I could but I'm afraid my work is booked for this week" nodding your head you say, "No problem, I'll make sure to check in after then, but I can assume we still have our lunch date scheduled?" She smiled saying, "Of course Y/N. I'm excited for that lunch." You nodded your head, "As am I."
